The Project Execution team are at the heart of our organisation, meeting and exceeding customer expectations while helping to build a sustainable and profitable future.

As a Project Manager, you will be part of the Power Grids (PG) Division and Grid Integration (BU) Business unit, based in Shanghai. ABB is World’s No.1 in Power Products Business and the product manufactured becomes the key components to transmit and distribute electricity. The division incorporates ABB’s manufacturing network for Transformers, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, Cables and associated equipment. It also offers all the services needed to ensure products’ performance and extend their lifespan.

As a Project Manager with the support of project team is responsible for successful execution/delivery of assigned project(s) on-time, within budget, as per Contract Agreement, with on- quality & safety framework of ABB.

1. Project Planning and Scheduling:
a) Plan, monitor and controls project activities, proactively to maximize cash flow.
b) Understand critical path scheduling and assure a minimum but sufficient project float.
c) Actively strives to optimize overall resource planning and utilization considering resources within the local organization.
d) Assure a valid Project Safety plan is in place.
e) Consider close out activities and influences for an early close out.
f) Identify and share lessons learned.
2. Customer Satisfaction Management in Project:
a) Assure ABB commitments to customer are met, in accordance with contract.
b) Assure and seeks to improve customer satisfaction and feedback through consistent customer interaction, e.g. Communication, (phone, e-mail, etc.) and Customer meetings, kick off, review, etc.
c) Work proactively to set customer expectation to assure a smooth project including acceptance of project deliveries and timely payment even under challenging circumstances.
d) Encourage openness & respect, and build trust, confidence & loyalty with customers and partners.
e) Promote healthy work-life balance within the project team.
3. Project Financial and Cost Management:
a) Understand and use Full Cost Calculation/Model and different revenue recognition methods.
b) Understand project exposure.
c) Control project cost and cash flow.
d) Influence project expenditures to maximize cash flow.
4. Legal and Contract Management for Projects:
a) Understand ABB’s standard terms and conditions and the impact upon the contract of differing and/or additionally accepted terms and conditions.
b) Understand project specific accepted terms and conditions and their application to project contract, including awareness of risks of negative impact on margin, performance and risk factors.
c) Utilize contract terms and conditions to maximize cash-flow, margin and to limit liabilities, e.g. through insurance.
5. Project Reporting:
a) Forthrightly present an account of project status/issues in project reviews.
b) Report status/ progress to customer and other stake holders with appropriate detail for desired understanding, e.g. to assure payment, set expectation, etc.
c) Raise potential project issues to relevant stake holders.
d) Effectively report project progress or other situations either verbally or in writing to assure desired understanding.
6. Scope and Change Management for Projects
a) Utilize negotiation skills for scope and change management.
b) Is on top of scope including the possible overall impact of what may seem to be minor changes. Negotiate change orders and additional sales.
c) Actively pursues desired changes in order to obtain additional sales, increase margin and to lower risk exposure.
7. Project Risk and Opportunity Management:
a) Understand risks as well as what may be causing a change in risk exposure and actions to avoid/mitigate.
b) Understand opportunities and how to take advantage of them.
c) Identify and mitigates risks associated with important aspects such as Health and Safety.
d) Proactively pursues decided upon mitigation efforts for identified risks.
e) Identify and act upon new risks and opportunities as they occur.
f) Assure avoidance/mitigation of liquidated damages and other penalties/claims.
8. Procurement Management for Projects:
a) Work actively with a number of suppliers to obtain overall best possible purchase, in cooperation with the supply management function.
b) Coordinate/direct project transportation and logistics.
c) Review status of critical suppliers’ progress and include in overall schedule.
d) Initiate 3rd party inspections as required.
e) Ensure the proper application of ABB’s supplier qualification process. .
9. Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

？ Bachelor’s Degree and major in Engineering (with domain experience in ABB business(referred).
？ 3+ years of experience Managing Projects and Projects of different size, complexity and contractual types.
？ PMP® certification from Project Management Institute or certified by our major competitor as Project Manager or IPMA Level C/D certification recommended if recruited from an external organization.
？ Good communication skills.
