As Senior Payroll Specialist, you are to process payroll, time and attendance function for China working with payroll vendors (where applicable) to execute accurate and timely payroll services for this dynamic market. You will ensure the payroll process is administered in compliance to Nike’s global process & policy and local statutory regulations and provide high quality service for employees across Greater China.
This role (based in Shanghai) will be a member of the Greater China HR Shared Services team, reporting to the GC HR Shared Services Payroll Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzes, audits, reconciles and oversees payroll processing to ensure accurate and compliant employee payroll.
- Ensure proper filing of social securities and tax returns to the local statutory authorities
- Maintain supporting payroll documentations and authorizations for internal and external audits
- Responsible for meeting the pre-determined payroll metrics and compliance requirements
- Identifies and resolves day-to-day technical and operational problems
- Provide support on payroll related projects and initiatives, as required
- Be the point of contact with employees and HR Business Partners/HR Managers on payroll matters, tax issues and time track matters.
- Partner and build relationship with Key stakeholders to constantly identifying opportunities for higher efficiency and productivity.
- Vendor Management and Relationship
- Performance reviews, improvement initiatives/solutioning, opportunities for scope expansion, better process controls
- Decisions are guided by policies; procedures and business plan
- Promote a good working environment by demonstrating an open, trusting and respectful approach with all colleagues and acting therefore as a role model for brand principles and maxims.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in Payroll/HR; regional payroll experience in a multinational or outsourcing or shared service environment is preferred
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Have an understanding of the statutory regulations, social insurance requirements and tax implications in Greater China. Experience in other countries will be advantageous.
- Team player, energetic, service-oriented and able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment under tight deadlines independently and with minimal supervision
- High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail is essential
- Prioritizes, organizes and makes decisions related to own work
- Uses discretion to modify work practices and processes to achieve results or improve efficiency
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel applications
- Working Knowledge of SAP HR is preferred
