Job description
The Corporate Communications Manager – North Asia is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s regional corporate communications strategy. S/he is in charge of the day-to-day management of corporate communication deliverables in China. The position is based in Beijing and has a dual reporting line to the Global Chief Communication Officer and the Regional Head of HR.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage media relations (maintaining and developing relationship, drafting/editing/issuing press releases/ reactive statements/ Q&As, etc) as applicable.
- Manage the China website in line with the global website strategy, proposing engaging content updates as needed.
- Develop compelling editorial content for the company’s global social media channels, quarterly internal e-newsletter and intranet.
- Draft and issue regional internal announcements, working closely with relevant internal regional stakeholders and global communication teams.
- Coordinate regional roll-out of global internal communication initiatives and campaigns (e.g. Safety Day, IT Security, employee surveys, etc).
- Create regional corporate communication materials as needed, including videos, brochures, factsheets, etc.
- Contribute regional content to the global Annual and Sustainability Reports.
- Coordinate event sponsorships/participation, developing TPs / briefs for company spokespeople, and any other supporting materials.
- Prepare briefing papers and talking points for LDC senior managers on China topics, for example for interviews, key meetings with external stakeholders / officials, visits to China, etc.
- Ensure crisis communications readiness.
- Manage media monitoring program in China.
We are looking for:
- A creative corporate communications professional with experience in corporate/internal communications and PR, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- A committed and enthusiastic team player with a can-do attitude and results-oriented.
- Proven track record of juggling various priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, high pressure environment, with keen attention to detail.
- Experience of operating effectively in a matrix organization, balancing multiple stakeholder requirements.
Requirements:
- 5-8 years’ communications experience, including internal communication, media relations, managing PR agencies. Agriculture sector experience is a plus.
- Native speaker of Mandarin with strong writing/storytelling skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English mandatory.
- Solid project management skills.
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to work closely with senior internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite tools desirable (particularly PhotoShop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro)
- Experience in managing intranet sites desirable (SharePoint proficiency preferred).
Education:
- A university degree in a related discipline – postgraduate qualification preferred
