Principal Accountabilities
Assist with managing China and other countries’ payrolls including scheduling payrolls, working with vendor on payroll processing and resolve issues, and maintaining logs and payroll statistics. Resolve escalated and complex issues that arise on a daily basis.
Assist with managing payroll team, including day-to-day payroll deliverables, integrity of payroll data and coordination with Workday HR team.
Create, run and review certain payroll reports in search for exceptions prior to processing.
Manage all aspects of payroll reporting and accounting, including general ledger and accrued payroll and tax liabilities, and other ad hoc reports or projects as assigned.
Responsible for continuous process improvement by identifying payroll vulnerabilities and opportunities for improvement and operating efficiencies.
Collaborate to research employee issues and provide timely and accurate payroll related data requests to appropriate partners.
Assist with compliance matters, such as timely regulatory filings related to wage laws, policies and procedures.
Build and maintain work relationships with internal partners, specifically those in other HR disciplines and Finance.
Communicate actively with Operations, Human Resources, and Benefits teams to review cross-departmental impacts and implement best-practices.

Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges;
Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from Director;
Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers;
Exercises limited management authority; sets employee performance objectives, conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions;
Defines team operating standards and ensures essential procedures are followed based on knowledge of own discipline.
Experience / Education
A minimum of 8-10 years of hands on experience in China payroll, social benefits, taxation and well versed in related legislation;
Experience in Asia Pacific regional payroll will be an advantage;
Excellent leadership skills and people management skills;
Experience in vendor management;
Pro-active with a can-do attitude;
A team player with good communication skill;
Meticulous, well-organized and conscientious with a high level of initiatives at work;
Good command of spoken and written English and Putonghua (Chinese).
