Job Purpose Statement / 工作目的描述
Coordinate brand event efforts for Vans China. Work closely with the Brand Marketing Manager China to ensure that the Vans brand image and message are consistent with the brand strategies.
Principal Accountabilities / 主要职责
- Continuously improve Vans brand image and awareness, increasing coverage, upgrading quality perception and reflecting brand positioning and differentiation from competitors.
- Work closely and communicate with cross function (Art, Brand Comm, Environmental and VM) to obtain adequate support for implementation and budget control/tracking
- Responsible for the brand marketing budget process from forecast planning to monitoring, invoice submission into system to trackingRegularly gather market feedback and competitor activity to further improve effectiveness of Event and Promotions Strategies.
- Ensure that target consumers and customers as well as internal stakeholders are positively aware of the brand, the events/ promotions and related marketing initiatives.
- Work closely with the Brand Marketing Manager to maximize marketing budget and grow brand presence & sales in China.
- Collaborate with Brand Communication Team to devise full year plan (PR, Digital and Social) and monitor the implementation through pre-set KPIs
- Maintain close connection with Global Team on Brand Activation - House of Vans and lead HOV CHINA programming, budget control, supervise operation, monitoring and reporting, create content for brand communication to consumers and identify key wins for future opening within region
- Strong local knowledge, KOL & Media network, street & cultural community connection and understanding to excel performance as the post would require extensive support from cross function, cross department and external partners, agencies and communities
- Responsible for administrative works and hands on duties with the support from part-time/contractor
- Monitor and report Event and Promotions budget on a regular basis, and be positioned to readily identify spent, committed and planned status at all times.
- Maximise every single investment towards the brand objectives.
- Coordinate all branding and on-site activities at Vans China Events, overseeing the inventory and logistics of promotion and branding materials for China
- Communicate any event information to all stakeholders (Marketing, Sales & Product) pre and post Event
- Attend all sponsored Events.
- Regularly update Vans Event calendars
- Where necessary, work with 3rd party external Event Agencies.
- Where needed, integrate Athletes into all Events, coordinating with Action Sports Marketing Manger
- Advise Brand Marketing Manager on event and promotions advertising program, content distribution opportunities and production of imagery
- Nurture a good team spirit across all functions and brand pillars
- Be visible as the Vans Events and Promotions Supervisor at all events.
- In conjunction with the Communications Manager China, liaise and deal with press and media pertaining to the action sports, music, art and street culture scene and gain media coverage across all channels in relation to Event and Promotion activities including: organisation of KOL interviews, photo shoots, filming.
- Secure and organise imagery/media for web content with regards to events in conjunction with the Communications Manager or third party photographers/Videographers (according to set budget/ product allocation), working closely with Art & Design Manager to ensure brand visual language consistency etc.
- Ensure exploitation of best opportunities and highest ROI for all Events and Promotions Activity.
- Be proactive, brand right, energetic, passionate, organized and strive for excellence.
Qualification & Experience Needed / 所需专业技能和工作经验

- Proven track record of involvement with the brand events.
- Minimum 3 years of Event management experience in Lifestyle or relative community.
- Deep understanding of the Vans brand as well as the action sports and lifestyle industries
- Analytical Skills: Thinking critically, logically and constructively about significant problems. Examining questions from a broad standpoint - not just from one angle.
- Language skills: Fluent in Chinese and English (both written and spoken).
- Excellent writing skills.
- Computer literate including use of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in working in multicultural teams.
- Willing to travel frequently.
- Enthusiastic, pro-active person who can handle stress and take initiatives.
- Excellent ability to work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Internet and Media savvy
- Good knowledge of the shoe/apparel market and its products
- Broad understanding of the business issues and needs
