Syngenta Beijing Innovation Center is seeking a highly responsible and self-motivated talent to join the Trait Evaluation Group. This person will be a key member to deliver R&D projects and drive innovation in plant molecular biology, including: enabling technology development in genome editing and continuous improvement on plant analysis platform.

Responsibilities:

• Develop next generation innovative technologies for Syngenta’s efforts to improve crops and generate IP
• Provide in-depth technical expertise on genomic editing technology and molecular analysis
• Manage project activities and actively interact with scientists within Beijing Innovation Center and other Syngenta business units to ensure critical project milestones are met
• Develop technology platform projects and manage research collaborations
• Maintain accurate experimental records and perform all activities in compliance with Syngenta quality management and HSE guidelines

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

• PhD in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, biochemistry, or Master plus 5+ years working experience in relevant field with a proven record of success in the form of publications and/or patents
• Experience in Linux is mandatory
• Experienced in Excel/VBA and one of scripting languages: python, Perl or R is a plus
• Experience in genome editing design and mutation analysis is preferred
• Good project planning, execution and reporting skills
• Flexible in handling project change and consistently deliver in a rapidly changing environment
• Innovative and passionate for science and technology
• Highly organized and focus on delivery
• Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills
• Drive for efficiency and quality
• Good team player and capable of influencing others
• Excellent written and oral English communication
