Syngenta Beijing Innovation center, the center of excellence for genome editing is seeking for a highly responsible and self-motivated talent to join the Trait Evaluation Group. As a Research Associate, this person will play a key member in accomplish research objectives to crop R&D team.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct analysis activities to deliver high quality analysis data packages for research projects; Proactively engage in cross-functional interaction and project management to ensure critical objectives and milestones are delivered timely
• Provide expertise in the area of molecular analysis to streamline project science plan and function delivery plan, and ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the technical paths involved
• Independently develop and implement fit-for-purpose molecular analysis method for different projects
• Managing multiple tasks and actively interacting with scientists
• Maintaining accurate experimental records and performing all activities in compliance with Syngenta quality management and HSE guidelines

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

• Master in molecular biology, genetics, and biotechnology, or related. >3 years’ experience in agricultural industry is preferred
• Direct experience in experimental design and execution to analyze transgenic/editing plants
• Experience in development and validation of molecular analysis method preferred
• Good knowledge on agricultural biotechnology, including GM, genome editing, as well as molecular breeding
• Good analytical and trouble shooting skills

• Good team player and capable of influencing others
• Excellent written and oral English communication

Additional information

• Role based in Syngenta Beijing Innovation Center, Changping District, Beijing, China
• Occasional weekend duty and early morning or late evening teleconference to interact with global colleagues
• Domestic and occasional international travel is required
