ITID (Information Technology Infrastructure Delivery)
Within HSBC Operations, Services and Technology, ITID implements and manages the IT infrastructure and supporting services that are critical to day-to-day operations for HSBC customer and user IT services, ensuring that issues are identified and resolved quickly to provide optimum levels of service with sufficient capacity, resilience and security. The division provides optimized and cost efficient hardware, system software, middleware and databases in support of the services that are delivered from its data centers over both voice and data networks to desktops and other end-user devices throughout our business.
IT Infrastructure Delivery COO (Optimise) team is set with the mission to provide information, analysis and processes support and guidance to all IT Infrastructure Delivery functions in financial analysis, commercial support and consultancy perspectives. We are focused to ensure IT Infrastructure Delivery as a whole is running healthy and efficient.
This role behaves as a global partner with all IT Infrastructure Delivery functional teams to provide quality information analysis, offers advices and recommendations to IT operation Management, leverage information power to help Management driving our organization towards right direction in alignment to global business strategies.
We are currently seeking high caliber professionals to join our team as Senior Technical Analyst – ITID COO China.
Principle Responsibilities
- Driving global programmes to align ourselves to the Target Operating Model, making processes managed by the team more robust and with better efficiency
- Deal with both internal and external counterparts with excellent coordination and communication skills to ensure timely, accurate and well moderated guidelines, management directions and feedbacks are effectively channeled
- Strong influencing and negotiation skill to reach mutual agreements when new policies and guidelines are to be implemented with corresponding IT Infrastructure Delivery functions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills to balance stakeholders' interests with proper prioritization and judgment on business rationale and/or shareholder values.
- Self-initiated to pick up strategic directions thus derive improvement, transformation and/or change programmes towards existing processes and organization structure
- Excellent management presentation skills to produce executive summary and presentations for management updates - Independent in resolve problems with no clear guidelines nor upfront definition if those are in/out of scope
- Actively partnering with functional heads, their delegates and IT Infrastructure Delivery business / relationship managers
- Offering commercial consultancy services within IT Infrastructure Delivery such as financial advisory and recommendations based on current and forecasted positions, analyse operational metrics to track and report organization effectiveness, streamline process flows and drive efficiencies
- Regular review on various financial and management information packs with high sensitivity on numbers, able to raise relevant queries with his/her own insights
- Drives sustainable growth; Identifies problems and implements solutions, making decisions based on sound, rational judgment within the scope of the role
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Typically educated to degree level
- Understanding and translating CS strategy into own team and aligning directions accordingly
- Effective communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills
- Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems
- Ability to motivate and lead people, employing appropriate management styles
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to prioritise work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing technical environment
- A high level of technical expertise including good technical design and implementation skills
- Excellent experience in a related role
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate with a wide spectrum of stakeholders
- Good knowledge of the project lifecycle and group strategy
- Practical understanding of business finance and management of budgets and expenditure
- Comprehensive understanding of policy and procedures in context of wider industry trends and direction
