Role Summary/Purpose

The Cash SME is a key team member of the GE Global Operational Controllership Team. This role is responsible to support the Cash COE leader along with being a subject matter expert (SME) for all things pertaining to cash accounting, process standardization, performance, IT solutions, training and simplification efforts and reaching a full enterprise standard version for the process area across all regions.

Essential Responsibilities

?Provide support to the Cash COE leader/GPL associated with cash global process design & ownership for the below accounting pillars:

o Cash and cash equivalents

o Long term borrowings

o GECARs factoring and related

o Short term borrowing

?Provide support with Business Controllers, Regional Finance Leaders (RFLs) and Regional Process Leaders (RPLs) that specialize in Cash accounting at a regional level.  

?Partner with the Cash GPL and Regional Operations teams to ensure open lines of communication related to upstream issues that create downstream accounting defects

? Support/execute simplification projects that deliver cost, speed and quality benefit to the business

? Provides KPI reporting, support during peak times and workload monitoring and support 

? Provide support and process design leadership:

oResponsible for overall design including enterprise standard, policy and intersection points with other ES Standards and transitionary guidance

o Standard taxonomy

o Wing to wing process mapping

o Controls design

o Standard process design

o Account req standards

o Communication of best practices

? IT solutions support:

o Support strategic project investments and resource prioritization

o Simplification strategy

o Functional requirements input to IT

o RPA strategy

o Account req automation

? Process leadership support:

o Implementation support on global projects

o Wing to wing cross functional workouts 

o Input and rollout into GE MAP revisions

o Application of GE GAP in the course of redefining processes

? Operations support:

o Implementation of new processes

o Supporting involvement in quarter close

Qualifications/Requirements

? Fluency in English

? Prior experience managing Cash accounting 

? Previous leadership experience in senior position performing accounting responsibilities and managing a team

?Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and minimum of 7 years of relevant financial work experience

Desired Characteristics

? CPA/ ACCA qualification or Big4 experience, FMP, CAS

? Experience performing process improvement activities in a finance capacity

? Experience building up teams and processes in a multi-cultural, international environment, ideally in one of GE’s industrial businesses.  Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers generate alternatives and drive positive change.

? Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas.

?Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in a easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing.

?Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills, PowerPoint

?Experience working in global business environment with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows.

?Adaptable/flexible: open to change (positive or negative) in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations.

?Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

? Good understanding of financial compliance: SOX, GAAP.
