Essential Responsibilities
• Responsible for developing, implementing and ensuring compliance to processes and manage complex issues within functional area of expertise
• Drive consistent compliance with Finance policies and procedures for Transportation businesses for countries in Asia.
• Drive accuracy and adherence to standards and policies and monitor the metrics on compliance, account reconciliations, Stat to US GAAP accounting & reconciliations, Turnaround time etc.
• Partner finance managers in driving accuracy & completeness of financials and enhancements in operational accounting area and drive controllership reviews
• As the domain expert drive simplification of systems and processes
• Implement new Accounting standards and pronouncements applicable to the business and develop appropriate implementation strategy
• Ensures integrity of financial systems, general ledgers and sub-ledgers and identify system enhancements to maximize productivity and reduce operating costs
• Develops policies & procedures to ensure proper internal controls while maximizing operational efficiency
• Manage Quarterly closings, reporting and other regulatory filings
• Act as liaison to internal and external auditors and resolve audit issues and ensure successful and timely completion of our required audits.
• Support Statutory /Internal/Regulatory audit processes for inventory/Revenue /COGS etc. Support Stat & Tax requirements & processes
• Lead, coach & mentor diverse team to leverage maximum contribution

Role Summary/Purpose

Reporting to the Finance Controller, the Asstt Controller is responsible for supporting the Controllership and Compliance of the GE Transportation business in South Asia.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Qualified Certified Professional Accountant & Chartered Accountant or Certified Professional Accountant
• At least 8 years experiences of Controllership & Accounting

• Sound financial management and accounting treatment application, established strong analytical ability, and problem solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment and embrace change, and work with cross functional teams
• Experience of Oracle is a plus
• Well versed in all accounting principles and internal control framework to be able to design compliant processes and drive necessary changes
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Adaptable/flexible: open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances and/or ability to work in ambiguous situations
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Written and verbal fluency in English and Chinese
• Has good fundamental organization & prioritization skills
