Essential Responsibilities
• Provide analytics which reflects quarterly business performance vs operating plan and prior year to drive growth and profitability
• Support direct manager and partner with GM and segment leaders in performance planning and reporting cycle, e.g. Growth play book, SII, OP, Max plan
• Support direct manager on modality reporting & analytics per global request, e.g. by sub segment performance, by product performance
• Control program spending, provide timely T&L tracker to GM and regional commercial leaders to drive base cost control rigor
• Assess price strategy effectiveness and develop financial visibility for segment/product related strategy setup and execution
• Provide program accrual, P&L recon, price erosion analysis and support team on MJE preparation during quarterly closing to ensure P&L result accuracy
• Participate in business rigors, e.g. Monthly Ops review, Monthly region review, CM walk review, quarter order/sales commentary with solid financial analytics
• Work with product managers and HQ/controllership on annual product financial info and BESP set up
• Lead simplification projects on reporting and operation processes, including to identify and fix system gaps, leverage digital tool to enhance SFDC/BI report/dashboard to improve data visibility and reporting accuracy
Role Summary/Purpose
Modality finance analyst is responsible for supporting CCS business within the scope of Greater China. The key deliverables of this role include CM walk review, weekly sales pulse call, order/sales forecast, quarterly closing tasks, and modality reporting & analysis per global request. As a partner of biz GM and finance manager, the finance analyst is expected to provide accurate reporting, reasonable analysis, and effective communication with local and global team.
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration and 2 years financial work experience; OR high school diploma / GED and 4 years progressive financial work experience
Desired Characteristics 1. Demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment
2. Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
3. Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function; able to quickly grasp new ideas
4. Strong communication skills: experience working across multiple, functions and regions; able to clearly communicate financial information in an easy to understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing
5. Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, SAP, COGNOS, Business Objects, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, Vlookup and macros)
6. Graduate of GE's Financial Management Program (FMP), Advanced Financial Leadership Program (AFLP), or graduate of other financial leadership programs
7. Trained and/or certified in process improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma
8. Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations
9. Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
10. Confidence/Assertiveness: strong influencing skills across business functions
11. Experience working in a matrixed environment
12. Strong knowledge of GEHC financial and commercial operating systems
