Role Summary/Purpose

This position is a part of GE Oil&Gas – Measurement and Controls (M&C). Primary responsibilities include configuration and delivery of GE Oil&Gas’s high fidelity simulator for our Oil & Gas customers in coal fired and combined cycle power plants.

Essential Responsibilities

• Review P&ID drawing, heat balance design data, etc. of a power plant to design customized simulation process model with GE simulator software. • Conduct simulation model validation, DCS integration and site commissioning service for the simulator systems. • Deliver simulation projects that meet the specific needs for our power industry and oil & gas customers. • Provide support for plant performance and optimization products. • Working smoothly with team leader, project manager and team members in daily job and project development life cycle. • Assist in development of new technologies and procedures, which will help standardize the delivery process, streamline the delivery time, improve the product based on which offer more consolidated benefits to customer.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor/Master degree in Thermal, Power or Control Engineering. • 2+ years of experience in modeling and simulation software. • Good knowledge of power plant equipment, theory and operation. • Familiarity with power plant DCS. • Strong background in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer. • Analytical skills – ability to work independently in a team, and good teamwork as well. • Good communication skills to convey technical concepts to business and technical personnel. • Self-motivated in daily job and engineering projects. • Strong computer skills. • Fluent verbal and written English.

Desired Characteristics

• Working experience in power plant as dedicated engineer concerning boiler (or turbine or control) maintenances or operation.
