职位描述
I. Job Summary:
This is a senior, highly strategic position within the Clinical Development Services (CDS) Client Service Team with responsibility for co-coordinating and project managing Covance's internal business activities for assigned clients. This role involves working closely with Account Executives (Sales), Proposal Development, Operational Strategy and Planning Group (OS&P) and Contract Management staff, interfacing with Covance Operational staff (eg Project Managers, Data Managers, Statisticians etc) in particular the Senior Clinical Directors. In addition opportunities coupling CDS with other Covance units (CCLS) and other third party vendors will require integrated proposal responses .It is a pivotal role within the company, collaborating with the sales group to enhance client relationships and secure new business for Covance.
This position can reside within any geographic location supporting the Clinical Development Services (CDS) Client Service Team This position does have line management responsibility and excellent, leadership skills are also essential.
A. Duties and Responsibilities:
· To manage the development of integrated seamless proposals in response to client request for proposal (RFP)
· To act as a "Champion" internally for business opportunities from RFP through presentation to handover into contracts by
i. The provision of opportunity momentum
ii. The provision of opportunity direction
iii. Monitoring opportunity progress
· To co-ordinate responses from OS&P and other Covance units especially for multi capability opportunities, review tenders from other Covance Business Units for consistency, review costings and pass-through costs
· Work with the Sales to ensure value messages for client hot buttons are developed and articulated within the proposal and client presentation
· Review of integrated clinical proposals (costs and text) and client related documentation/presentations
· Review and incorporate pertinent pipeline information and Win/Loss analysis feedback into proposal and presentation strategy
· To manage re-costs and prepare extra client information as required during the bidding process
· To manage, prepare, co-ordinate and deliver client presentations including presentation strategy meetings incorporating feedback from Scientific Strategic Solutions Group (3SG). Overseeing preparation of client folders and supplementary client information
· To coach and mentor the Project Team for presentation meeting
· To attend bid defense meetings if requested
· To attend client face to face or teleconference meetings if requested
· To instigate and lead Project Launch - Hand Over process to Contract Management, Clinical, Project Planning and Finance commencing from verbal award up to contract signature and to assist in facilitating smooth contract negotiations when a project is awarded
· To work with contract management to ensure timely submission of change orders should these be recosted through the Global Costing Model
· Lead and participate in global Client Service process improvement and commercial effectiveness initiatives
· Line management responsibility
II. Education/Qualifications:
Required:
BSc/BA or equivalent
MBA desirable but not essential
III. Experience:
Required:
Approximately 5+ years experience in a Business Development or Clinical function for a similar organisation (CRO or Pharmaceutical company) is desirable in order to have gained sufficient knowledge and experience
