Position Description
Legal Counsel
We are recruiting a Legal Counsel to the GTO Legal Department, location Shanghai, to support the manufacturing and logistics organization and also the purchasing and technology organization; Group Trucks Technology. The Legal Counsel will work in a highly international environment, assisting in larger projects on a continuous basis as well as providing day to day support in various legal matters. The work involves daily interaction with colleagues within the GTO and GTT organizations in Shanghai and other Asian countries and regular contact with the legal departments in Sweden. It also involves coordinating and working with external lawyers in countries where we have noVolvo Group legal departments. The work requires travelling from time to time.
The Legal Counsel will report to the Senior Vice President Legal, Group Trucks Operations.
Main activities and responsibilities:
? Provide professional legal advice to GTO and GTT, mainly in the area of general commercial law.
? Draft and review contractual documentation and participate in contractual negotiations.
? Enhance awareness of legal and commercial risks and work proactively with legal and compliance issues.
? Prepare and update template agreements and provide relevant legal training to employees within GTO and GTT.
? Dispute management.
Critical competencies for the position:
? University degree in law.
? Solid competence in the areas of corporate and commercial law, contract law (international transactions in particular).
? Specific interest or specialization in transportation or intellectual property law is an advantage.
? International experience.
? Minimum five to seven years of relevant work experience.
? Distinctive problem-solving abilities and a commercial interest.
? Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
? Excellent knowledge in English. Other language skills are considered an advantage.
