POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Candidate will be responsible for software verification in support of Medtronic’s next generation Neuromodulation Patient and Clinician Programmers. Responsibilities of the incumbent will include test development of embedded level software. This position works intensely with the embedded design team in an environment to meet/exceed business and quality objectives of the Neuro Product Development organization.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide test development of embedded device applications using C/C++.

• Contribute to the design, feasibility, and architecture of the creation of new applications for the programmers, monitors and stimulation systems.

• Actively participate in, and provide constructive feedback to the software review process.

• Participate in the sign off and closure of the tasks involved in the characterization and formal verification of a medical product.

• Ensure understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high quality work.

  BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• 6+ years of software test development experience on embedded systems.

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• Experiences with Python, Shell script or other kinds of script language

• Experience with Continuous Integration using Jenkins

• Experience with Git/Gerrit and familiar with Git command line in Linux and branch maintenance

• Familiar with C programming language and hardware basic troubleshooting skills

  DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

• Strong working knowledge of developing software for medical devices/products, including familiarity with the processes and procedures governing that development.

• Effective communication both verbally and in written form (Mandarin and English).

• Experience working across various teams (verification testing, systems engineering, human factors, management) in previous positions.

• Knowledge and understanding of Medtronic’s Neuro devices, programmers, and their associated applications.
