We are looking for a seasoned Commercial & Consumer Marketing executive with revenue marketing experience to lead the Central Marketing Organization (CMO).
The CMO is a newly merged field marketing team with a wider marketing remit, which includes both Commercial and Consumer accountability and marketing excellence. The CMO leader is responsible for bringing the modern marketing vision to life in each Area/Sub, providing the Commercial leadership and accountability we need to deliver connected sales and marketing as a reality for each and every team. The CMO creates a strong center of gravity that bridges the work we do with segments and the focus we have on landing Global Demand Centers. The CMO also plans and executes consumer marketing campaigns and programs, embracing our modern marketing principles.
As the CMO Leader you are responsible for leading and successfully landing the overall Marketing Transformation in your Sub/Area. With strong executive support, you lead and orchestrate a multi-dimensional, cross-functional marketing team of senior marketing leaders who manage the 3 key functions: Consumer Marketing, Commercial Marketing and Center of Marketing Excellence where Digital, Analytics, and Events discipline experts thrive. This holistic team is responsible for delivering key business results by implementing integrated marketing programs that shape audience perceptions and drive demand generation through Global Demand Centers (GDCs) and Global Engagement Programs (GEPs). You oversee the lead flow management process instrumental in connecting Marketing and Sales, which in turn ensures customers have a positive customer experience with Microsoft. Your team delivers end-to-end marketing communications planning, execution, and optimization across the buyer journey for all audiences, working with the Center of Marketing Excellence. Besides working with your Area/Subsidiary leadership team, your professional partnership and network extends to Microsoft’s headquarters specifically the Redmond Marketing Group of leaders and stakeholders, inclusive of the International Media Team (IMT) to amplify the impact of Field paid media investments. You lead your Area/Subsidiary to smartly maximize precious marketing investments by fully exploiting all global content, campaigns, services, and through-the-line marketing to retail and partners. The ideal candidate will be a voracious learner, quick adopter of leading practices from peers, and a courageous leader skilled in not only managing a team to execute on global strategy but also champion effective marketing integration and marketing operations to drive positive business outcomes. You must enjoy ongoing challenges in this multifaceted, constant change management leadership role that combines strong Modern Marketing Profile, Social Marketing leadership, Marketing Automation foundation, Marketing Operations excellence and masterfully leveraging global programs in your market for the greater cause—all coming together to deliver the best solutions for our customers.

The Impact You’ll Be Making…
Key areas of responsibilities include:
Land the All-up Marketing Transformation in Subsidiary or Area leveraging Marketing Automation via Global Demand Centers (GDCs) and Global Engagement Programs (GEPs) inclusive of usage, process and policy. (40% of time)
Lead the All-up Integrated Marketing plan with business goal alignment across both Sales and Marketing leadership; includes Commercial marketing influenced pipeline and Corp-driven MAQL targets. (10% of time)
Drive Marketing LT Governance across Consumer, Commercial, and Services business groups and segments; active leader participant on the MOGS Steering Committee. (10% of time)
Oversee all strategic Social Marketing initiatives for Area/Subsidiary inclusive of Social Command Center management, paid social budget secured, and leading practice sharing through A15 peers and digital leads community. (10% of time)
Oversee all end-to-end marketing and marketing communications planning, strategy, execution and optimization across all audiences leveraging the Center of Excellence and the MSC services; Use all global assets, infrastructure and policies and consume all Modern Marketing University (MMU) readiness content; Lead with a One Microsoft approach, embrace Microsoft brand culture, and lead Microsoft brand stewardship for Subsidiary or Area. (10% of time)
Ensures the Commercial Marketing Lead and AMM provide insights to account teams on account-based marketing penetration and net new contacts. They work with segment leadership to ensure key customers attend global Tier 1 Events including Envision, Ignite and prioritized third party industry events leveraging the Center of Excellence. They develop and execute account-based marketing plans for managed segments to maximize marketing impact on pipeline and revenue. (10% of time)
Develop, attract and export top Modern Marketing talent worldwide; Modern Marketing Profile: think revenue outcome, embrace Buyer centricity, market across the Buyer Journey, drive volume into the Global Engagment Program nurture streams, and ongoing test/measure/learn mindset. (10% of time)
#Qualifications
Who we’re looking for…
Experiences Required: Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:
Minimum of 10+ years of Marketing management experience in both B2B technology and consumer marketing. Experience in executing global marketing strategies and developing breadth and depth integrated regional efforts that amplify/extend/scale the efforts through to sale.
Preferably 7+ years’ experience in leadership and people management, and strong penchant for driving revenue outcomes. Recognized talent attractor, developer and exporter.
Strong understanding of and appreciation for marketing automation concepts, marketing operations and integrated marketing, including strategic Social Marketing. Strong analytical capabilities to measure business performance and ability to quickly make smart business tradeoffs.
Proven experience in dealing with strategic, complex issues and challenges in a highly-matrixed organization. Experience working at a large global multinational is a positive.
Exhibit high-degree of professional objectivity and awareness, executive maturity and presence, world and life perspective and sense of humor. Excellent communication and cross-collaboration skills. Exceptional skill in exerting influence and impact with executives and senior leaders in the company.
Highly motivated, results-driven forward thinker who enjoys change management leadership, marketing and sales operations fundamentals. Ideal candidate will learn fast, react in real-time, and move with agility to respond to changing conditions, bringing both marketing and sales teams along on our transformational journey.
Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) required; MBA degree preferred but not required.
