Overview#

JD : Senior HR Manager Based in Beijing



The Microsoft Asia Research & Development Center (ARD) HR team is currently seeking a Sr. HR Manager to support the Engineering organizations.

This is an opportunity for a Strategic HR leadership role to lead and shape the organization agenda and develop the HR strategy supporting the Senior Engineering Leaders of the business.

The ideal candidate for this role is someone who likes to turn ideas into reality and deliver substantive business impact. Strength in building trusted relationships with leaders, and the ability to leverage those relationship to diagnose and coach leaders on team, organization, and their own effectiveness is highly desired. Strong experience in Organization effectiveness and Talent Management is key to ensure client-ready solutions, including initiatives geared at diversity & inclusion, organization effectiveness, and leadership effectiveness is ideal for this position.

This role is ideally suited for an HR professional with a desire to grow. You will get transparent exposure to the context of the business, decision making processes, and priority setting. You will receive regular coaching and feedback on your development including direct commentary on your blockers and on how to use your strengths more effectively. And you will work across the business and be engaged in projects across the HR community and organization to broaden your exposure and impact.

Responsibilities#



HR Management at Microsoft

Key responsibilities include:

• Contribute to the development and execution of HR strategies and successfully execute against the HR plan of record.

• Successfully drive HR in the business day to day, including Performance Management, Talent Management and more, and use these practices as a platform for further influencing and enabling the broader people strategy work throughout the organization.

• High degree of business acumen and people acumen, and ability to influence business leaders at an executive level and within HR community

• Demonstrated competency in the areas of Cross Group Collaboration and Organizational Agility

• Understand business strategy and priorities, and guide organization and job design to anticipate and meet the business needs.

• Partner with COEs to drive the strategy for identifying and acquiring new sets of skills and capabilities, and to create and manage sustainable talent management plans

• Partner with and coach managers and leaders to facilitate organizational and cultural change.

• Educate the business on people trends and impact to broader strategy work

• Partnering across all HR disciplines/functions to effectively manage and deliver HR Programs in a complex and matrixed business environment

• Engage deeply with leaders to help shape desired culture, including a diverse & inclusive environment.

• Proactively identify challenges and build effective, scalable, and lasting solutions.

• Drive initiatives for building and improving organizational health.



The successful candidate will be a key member of the ARD HR team and will be expected to contribute to HR projects outside of day-to-day responsibilities, in an effort to build and drive an all-up people strategy for Microsoft’s India Development Center .



Qualifications#

Candidate Profile



Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent cross-group collaboration, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

• Strong coaching, consulting, and facilitation skills

• Effective consulting and coaching skills.

• Strong business acumen and people acumen, and ability to influence business leaders at a managerial level around complex HR decisions.

• Demonstrable experience in analyzing business issues and providing scalable HR solutions that address & align to broader business requirements

• Ability to deal with ambiguity, and achieve results in a fast-paced, heavily-distributed team environment

• Ability to manipulate and analyze HR data and drive solutions or recommendations based on data insights

• Strong systems-thinking ability.



Education and Experience:

• Education Level Required: BS/BA degree required.

• Advanced degree in HR preferred. PHR/SHRM-CP preferred or equivalent working experience.

• Years of Experience Required: 10+ years of relevant work experience.



This role will report to the HR Lead of Line HRM team.
