ABOUT YOUR ROLE
This role will define the business development plan and execute commercial strategy along with Global account management, sales and marketing, as it pertains to all areas of the Industrial markets. This position is responsible for both championing quantitative and qualitative objectives
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
New market development.
- Develop and implement go to market Business Development strategies.
- Take lead on spec-in activity and generate sales leads for commercial team and work close with sales and technical team to convert it into sales result. Build up strong network with brand owners, convertors and designers,
- Define the value proposition to the targeted market, customers and industry including service, price and product platform strategies.
- Work across Avery Dennison Graphic cross functional teams to achieve material specification with all stakeholders;
- Execute pricing and monitor profitability with new Product & Sales Management.
- Develop and execute appropriate business plans/multi-generation product plans to identify trends, opportunities for marketplace advantage, and new ideas for products, processes and services.
- Develop personal contacts and business relationships with major clients.
- Overall responsibility for managing Business Development efforts for China Graphic business Segments.
- Coordinate Avery Dennison sales, marketing and technical effort to aligned new market approached
- Responsible for delivery of short-term and long-term results in order to develop and maintain the organization’s credibility with the business and create opportunities for the function to add greater value.
- Translate market trends and customer needs into actionable goals that create competitive advantage.
- Identify, assess, develop and manage new program and new business opportunities for assigned sub-segment and region leading to successful commercialization efforts.
- Responsible for profitably growing the new business.
- Responsible for opportunity analysis and the execution of business development and new venture development plans.
- Identify and evaluate new opportunities building off of existing technologies to new or existing customers.
- Work with Marketing to formulate strategy and select key target markets and battlefields, identify prospective customers, and identify unmet customer needs. Work to identify products and processes needed to meet those needs.
- Participate in trade associations and technical conferences related to target market opportunities
- Monitor and report on industry trends. Incorporate knowledge of the industry to partner with Marketing to develop products, support materials and pricing recommendations.
- Key contributor in the development of strategic and operating plans (i.e., AOP’s, strategic plans, etc.

- Ensure GPS is up to date.
- Model and promote the Corporation’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.
- Act as a role model to drive change to a market-focused team.
- Positively lead and influence colleagues to partner together to achieve individual and business goals.
- Coordinate team efforts, create and manage a regional strategy and team operating plan.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
- Around 10 years’ chemical business experience, emphasizing business development / technically proficient, sales and marketing, project experience is an asset;
- Demonstrated success in cross-regional & cross-functional projects or initiatives.
- Strong experience in spec-in activity;
- Experience in planning, forecasting, researching new opportunities and implementing successful account penetration.
- Must be able to champion new business ventures. This will require excellent organizational and people skills, project management skills, with an ability to openly convey information to team members in a timely, concise manner.
- Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and function specific software.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
