We are expanding our autonomous driving/intelligent connected vehicle team in Beijing to bring self-driving cars to Chinese streets as soon as possible. Our technical teams work closely together with our experts at headquarters in Wolfsburg and other autonomous driving teams across the globe. Main goals and objectives:

This position’s core mission is to lead the ICV Coordination team which coordinates ICV activities in region China, and creates transparency regarding ICV premises and the government cloud. Consequently, the position will contribute to the overall understanding of ICV in China and the impact of the Chinese concept on Volkswagen Group vehicles. This position will be responsible for people management, monitoring performance metrics of individual project coordinators, and for various project management process approaches and improvements. This will require strong leadership and communication skills and an ability to motivate team members on Volkswagen Group China’s goals. He/she will report to the senior director of Group R&D.

Your Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the described scope and tasks within the Group R&D department of Volkswagen Group China. The position is managing multiple stakeholders in China and Germany. He/ She takes on task to coordinate ICV activities at VW, Audi and JVs. Therefore, the position holds the responsibility to align with relevant stakeholders.

? Steer and direct ICV Coordination activities to create transparency regarding ICV topics in region China and facilitate important decision making and define in detail the ICV concept in China and its implications of Volkswagen Group Vehicles

? Track and steer activities in the various ICV workstreams and communicate the status  

? Lead a committee for cross-functional exchange on ICV topics and assign required tasks and derive decisions appropriate way

? Implement communication plan and manage multiple stakeholders within the ICV field

? Oversee ICV premises progress and align with other stakeholders on the concrete phrasing and impact of ICV premises

? Oversee all ICV cloud projects and report the status / progress to management

? Oversee PMO topic backlog and tasks and escalate critical topics

? Report to senior director of Group R&D all relevant work results, critical topics etc. and be responsible for the preparation and finalization of top management presentations

? Manage and lead team members, monitor their performance, and conduct performance interviews

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

? Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Management or equivalent

Personal skills:

? Overarching, cross functional & cross-cultural management competencies

? Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience

? Ability to run meetings with participants from various departments effectively

? Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

? Outstanding organization, communication (verbal, written and visual) and collaboration skills

? Detail oriented personality and interest in continuous learning/improvement

? High level understanding of various systems needed for self-driving vehicles (sensors, compute, wiring, chassis communication, controls, etc.)

? Proven experience with multi project management in an automotive field

? Proven expertise in closely working together with cross-business and cross- entity stakeholders

? Experience with autonomous vehicle or advanced driver assist system development such as lane keeping, adaptive cruise control, etc. preferred

? Experience with the Volkswagen organization especially R&D departments including core processes preferred

Working experience (in years):

? +6 years (Bachelor) / +4 (Master) of relevant work experience

? +3 years on Management Level (MK)

Remarks (Language, IT Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

? English fluent

? German fluent

? Proficiency in MS Office and other project management related tool
