Position: ADAS Test Engineer

We are expanding our autonomous driving/intelligent connected vehicle team in Beijing to bring self-driving cars to Chinese streets as soon as possible. Our technical teams work closely together with our experts at headquarters in Wolfsburg and other autonomous driving teams across the globe. Main goals and objectives:

The core mission of this position is to support the development team with valuable insights into the performance of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) by testing new and/or adapted vehicle functionalities. The main objectives of this position are the conception and description of test methods and processes. Planning, organization and steering of test drives for the collection and analysis of statistical data on ADAS functions. Ensuring regulatory compliance of the ICV in the Chinese market. Furthermore, act as direct interface partner to development teams for communication of test results and improvement potentials.

Your Responsibilities:

The position is responsible for the described scope and tasks within the Group R&D department of Volkswagen Group China. Furthermore, it holds the responsibility to align with relevant stakeholders.

? Design, develop and implement test methods and processes for hardware and software parts of ADAS functions

? Create test methods and processes to understand functional behavior, performance and limitations of ADAS sensor set and software

? Validate new testing methods and data collection procedures with internal government regulations teams

? Support and perform testing activities on ADAS sensor sets and software in both lab setting and on-road vehicle environment

? Collect and analyze testing data sets and information to determine if the vehicle meets internal, customer and market requirements, and make recommendations for action to the internal development teams

? Collaborate with internal engineering teams and internal staff for government regulations to develop, validate, and improve the vehicle performance, security and compliance

? Documentation and reporting of test setup, plans and results to internal stakeholders

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

? Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

Personal skills:

? Basic understanding of government regulations regarding the ICV market China

? Ability to collaborate with Vehicle Test Operators and/or perform vehicle test drives with prototype vehicles

? Good communication skills (written, oral and visual)

? Ability to work in a dynamic working environment in close collaboration with the team

Working experience (in years):

? More than 3 years’ experience of vehicle testing methods and process specifically related to Autonomous Vehicles and Vehicle Dynamics.

? Excellent knowledge of ADAS hardware and software, and other vehicle systems such as CAN networks, ECUs, etc.

? Excellent knowledge of vehicle test methods and processes in the field of ADAS functions or comparable higher

? Excellent skills in vehicle data procession and analysis

Remarks (Language, IT Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

? English fluent

? Chinese fluent

? Optional/ preferred: German good experience in oral & written

? Excellent knowledge of ADAS hardware and software, and other vehicle systems such as CAN networks, ECUs, etc.

? Excellent knowledge of vehicle test methods and processes in the field of ADAS functions or comparable higher
