CE-Asia (the publisher and operator of video game digital publishing platform Sonkow.com) is seeking a smart, experienced gamer who also happens to be a great editor/translator. Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing Services, the editor will be involved in the development of a wide variety of written materials, from the traditional (packaging, advertising) to the digital (email, web, social media) and beyond. The successful candidate must be fluent in Chinese and English, and will be a self-starter, able to work autonomously when necessary, and will have no trouble switching between projects, formats, and styles as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES Revise, edit, proofread, and prepare a wide variety of texts including in-game and voice scripts, manuals, press releases, web pages, and email responses Ensure language and style quality standards are met Advise on linguistic issues and ensure translation consistency Translate as needed Create, refine, compile, and maintain glossaries as required Create and maintain style guide(s) for individual titles and departments REQUIREMENTS You love playing video games, particularly PC based games, and you also know how to write about them in a way that makes them come alive for readers. You ask questions when it's appropriate, but you also know when it's best to listen and observe. You are creative, resourceful, and conscientious. You enjoy a fast-paced and exciting environment. You are a quick study, don't fluster easily, and know how to manage your own time. You have game company experience, or a marketing communications or journalism background. Excellent Chinese and English translation skills. Excellent grammar, spelling, editing, and proofreading skills 2-4 years of editing or translation experience in the video game industry Acute attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work cooperatively and maintain quality under tight deadlines Ability to maintain a heavy workload on an ongoing basis Ability to communicate editorial changes constructively Creative and able to take initiative working independently or within a team Excellent organizational skills Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Bachelor's degree in literature, translation, language studies/communication, related degree or equivalent interactive industry localization experience
