Job Summary: 

The application engineer serves as the primary internal interaction point for all customers that make contact with the company for product support and sales assistance via phone or internet.  The application engineer acts as both an inside sales person and technical expert in the product and applications.

  

Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

   

1. Responder to incoming calls for technical support or sales inquiries

2. Responsible for providing customers with application engineering and technical solutions

3. Responsible for accurate order entry and following of the order through to fulfillment

4. Responsible for entering and updating customer files and ensuring all relevant information is accurately recorded

5. Answers and/or distributes email requests and tech support questions to the appropriate parties

6. Responsible for providing the customer with quotations

7. When necessary will be required to assist in the training of sales reps and distributors during sales meetings

8. Assist in Trade Show exhibits which includes a modest amount of travel

9. On occasion can be called upon to assist in customer visits for both direct customers and rep/distributor customer visits

10. Perform other duties that may be assigned to assist in the overall sales effort

11. NEW- When possible, assist the MARCOM department for special projects, marketing ideas and for when additional technical assistance is needed

12. NEW - Engage with all CSR team members during each work day in promoting information exchange, internal support, and full cooperation with all organizations within the company.

13. NEW - Continually learn about (and keep up with) new Alicat products and services to facilitate a complete sales & service experience for the customer. 

                              

Relationships & Roles:

  

1. Directly interface with all departments on technical and sales issues to resolve them satisfactorily and in a timely manner
2. Using strong communications skills must be able to convey, importance and timing of information that must be shared for accomplishment of tasks assigned
3. Must be able to build interdepartmental and interpersonal relationships to support the functions of the job

  

 

  

Job Specifications (skills and experience):

  

1. BA or BS

2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Power point and Word.

3. Technical skills with a basic understanding of physics and electronics

    

4. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English. Candidate will have the ability to read and comprehend moderate to complex instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Candidate will have the ability to write technical correspondence. Candidate will have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

5.  At least 2 years work experience.
