Job Responsibilities:

You will be part of a Firmware development team that designs, implements, qualifies, and validates Firmware for future Color/Mono LaserJet Printer and MFP products at Shanghai R&D center in China. You will be heavily involved in all aspects of the product lifecycle: Requirements, Design, Prototype, Implementation, Qualification, and Current support. You need to design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of firmware.

You will also assist management with the scoping of firmware tasks and resource requirements. Additionally, innovation is a key as you design and develop major functional and performance enhancements or tools for the products.

As a firmware engineer, you will also:

- Apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues.

- Contribute to the development of new ideas and methods.

- Work on complex problems and projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of multiple variables.

Qualifications & Required Skills:

3+ years’ experience with the following:

- Solid C/C++ experience

- Embedded System Development: Unix/Linux

- Proficient in 802.11 infrastructure and ad hoc networks, TCP/IP networks

- Desire experience and knowledge on Network device drivers, USB, SMTP, security protocol, socket programming

- Embedded debugging / troubleshooting with target HW

- Automated unit, subsystem, and system test experience

- Subversion

- Various scripting languages

Highly Desired Skills:

- Printer / Printing systems experience

- Image processing experience

- Python

ARM, DSP, networking, image process experience is preferred

Other essential skills include

- Strong team work within both technical and non-technical communities

- Good communication skills, fluent in both English and Chinese

- Self-motivated with “can do” attitude

- Ability to organize technical issues and drive to resolution

Qualifications

Education and Experience

-Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

-Minimum 4-6 years experience

Knowledge and Skills

-Expertise in multiple firmware design tools and languages.

-Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

-Designing firmware, including interaction and integration with hardware design

-Firmware testing methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
