Thermal Power - Thermal Service (TS) Business - Steam Turbine Product Line (TSS):
Product Manager
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Product Platform Strategy
?Coordinate the development of holistic platform strategies by defining Platform Business Plans for allocated product platforms ensuring the contribution from all relevant Alstom stakeholders internal as well as external to TSS business. Manage regular progress f0llow-up and revision of Business Plans
?Ensure development and alignment of product platform strategies with business Mission, Visions and objectives
Product Centre (PC) / Execution Centre (EC) Product Management responsibilities
?Organise and facilitate product and platform training of staff internal to TSS
?Actively contribute to development, planning and implementation of product related activities in allocated PC/EC including support of Capture, Tendering and Fleet Management
?Contribute towards yearly TSS product innovation and budget cycle activities representing allocated PC/EC and Platform
?Manage Customer Information Bulleting (CIB) process for allocated Fleets and Platforms
?Conduct competitor analysis for allocated markets, competitors or products in conjunction with Market Analytics
Product Lifecycle Management
?Initiate internally (e.g. with Fleet Management or Market Analytics) and externally (e.g. by Voice of Customer or TS Local Service Centre interviews) to TSS the collection and analysis of market product information and identification of specific customer needs, requirements and value cases. The analysis shall include the review of multiple sources such as Events Databases, Engineering review meetings and Capture Won/Lost reports. Propose and specify new products and developments of existing product which will satisfy the market needs
?Define the product scope and market requirements as input to the product development process as well as establishing the product development investment business case
?Approval participation member of the gated Product Development Quality (PDQ) review process to ensure continued alignment of product developments with the product strategy. Support the product development process by provision of updated business cases and by facilitating access to other OEM fleet information
?Develop the Product Launch Plan with identified stakeholders achieving alignment with product and platform strategies as well as with the Local Service Centre and the responsible PC/EC. Support New Product Introduction with updated product descriptions and related presentation material to support development of customer road shows, newsletters or brochures
?Support product localisation, technology transfer process and external to TSS training with specific product knowledge
?Manage and update product documentation for allocated products as per internal instructions. Maintain Product Descriptions in Product Catalogue
Educational Requirements
?Degree or equivalent in technical discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering, and commercial experience, preferably including a qualification in Business Management, ideally MBA
Experience
?Good knowledge of product strategy and marketing methodologies
?Familiar with value assessments from Plant Operator as well as from service provider viewpoints: business case, financial scenarios and profitability assessments
?Project Management experience
?Team leadership experience
?Power plant and steam turbine service, retrofit and upgrade product knowledge & credibility for own OEM equipment as well as for other OEM equipment
