Job title: Software Customer Engineer - Power (Beijing)

Job Description:

Our Customer Engineering (CE) team helps customers from the phone concept to entering carrier labs and ultimately to their user hands. Part of this group deals with the common software that is used across all platforms: Boot, Peripheral Drivers, Modem, Application Processor, Board Support Packages (BSP), RTOS (both internal and 3rd Party), Power Management, Multi-Processor Communication (RPC) etc. The role of this position is to enable and provide Software engineering services to Qualcomm Mobile station Software users. QCT's software applications engineers work with handset manufacturers with Embedded Application and Wireless protocol Software. QCT engineer will co-work with the customers to optimize the power and reduce leakage currents on customer devices. It is a very challenging position requiring the candidate to learn Qualcomm Mobile station software, Embedded Software, Real Time OS, ARM Microprocessor implementation details, In-circuit emulators and debuggers, WCDMA/GSM/LTE wireless protocols, Wireless Mobile Test Equipment, test procedures, and industry standard test tools. The role requires interfacing with handset software developers and Qualcomm engineers to debug failures, enhance test procedures, develop scripts to automate debugging and document various procedures, and debug techniques.

Skills/Experience Required

2 - 3 years of experience in the following areas are required:

• C programming

• Board Support Package development experience

• Linux Kernel Drivers programming

• Software Integration and debugging on embedded real time operating systems

• Experience with ARM processors

• Hands on JTAG/TRACE32 experience

Additional qualifications in the following areas are preferred:

• Power optimization experience

• Knowledge in WCDMA/GSM/LTE protocol/power management is a plus.

• Android Power Management Skills.

• Embedded or wireless system software

• High level knowledge about hardware.

• Strong communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, a self-starter, and strong initiative skills.

• Good understanding on CPU architecture

• Good understanding on SoC system architecture

• Linux Kernel Programming

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required

• Mature interpersonal skills with an ability to collaboratively work with many varied teams and resolve problems spanning many disciplines

• Proven ability to work in a dynamic, multi-tasked environment
