Job Summary (Purpose of the job)
1. Identify unmet data/info. needs in China’s healthcare market
2. Design and implement new data/info. products for IMS China
3. Ensure the successful launch of new products in China
Major Duties Performed (Main Functions)
1. Develop in-depth understanding of China’s healthcare in terms of data/info. market.
2. Overall healthcare market understanding: including overall trends, major customer segments and key players in each segment;
3. Specific healthcare market understanding to identify opportunities:
a. Establish a research plan, identifies information gathering methods and techniques and vital collection principles.
b. Leverage multiples sources of information and harnesses multiple approaches or methodologies to optimize research outcomes by using both secondary and primary research. -
c. Engage both IMS internal resources and selected third party research analytics providers to execute market research and analytics activities.
d. Draw conclusions and make recommendations for plan of actions supported by market analytics outcomes.
4. Develop & test product concept for China and justify the plan of new product development
5. Solicit opinions/guidance from IMS and experts in the industry, and get the feedback on new products from internal teams and clients.
6. Align products with corporate strategy and goals.
7. Participate in product planning and the development for extensions, augmentations or new development or business partnerships.
8. Build up the business case to estimate potential of a new product and P&L model.
9. Plan and execute the development of new product
10. Create a new product development plan based on the design confirmed by clients’ feedback and feasibility.
11. Drive and monitor the implementation of product development plans against targeted results (quality, timeline and cost, etc.) by working with different IMS departments (IO, finance, legal, sales & marketing, etc.).
