Essential Responsibilities
• Work closely with local commercial team to identify customer requirement and convert it to engineering system requirement.
• Execute the DS projects from installation, commissioning, pilot and validation test.
• Perform technical analysis in support of product deployment and performance to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Understand DS application currently deployed with railroad customers, and conduct research and development to improve KPIs (key performance indictors), such as availability, utilization, fuel efficiency, train handling and cycle time.
• Work closely with system, Design and Project Engineering to influence change in the Digital solution system design to its overall performance.
• Identify opportunities to expand the product performance in ways that bring value to our customer and satisfy our profitability requirements.
• Perform lab test&filed data analysis to help system trouble shooting.
• Participate in the Digital solution product development plan.

Role Summary/Purpose
Lead Engineer will be responsible for conducting GE Transportation’s Digital solution system (DS) commercial support, project execution, analysis and simulation to validate performance and help continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs), across multiple customers.
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university or college.
• At least 3 additional years of experience in research & development in engineering product development with focus in control systems, optimization or railway systems.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.
• Good bi-lingual (Chinese & English) written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Characteristics
• Master's degree in Engineering with emphasis in control systems, optimization, or Electrical systems.
• Knowledge in Locomotive Systems and Railroad Operating Practices
• Experience in Data Analytics
• Six Sigma Certification
• Strong design, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
• Railroad Industry experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency with MATLAB

上世纪80年代起，中国进口了首批420台GE运输系统集团制造的ND5柴油内燃机车。2002年，GE运输系统集团在北京成立了通用电气运输系统（中国）有限公司，提供研发、制造和其他服务。2005年，GE运输系统集团与中华人民共和国铁道部签订了300台Evolution系列中国干线机车合同，用于中国各大铁路干线。2008年GE运输系统集团创建了第一个矿用自卸卡车电动马达生产厂，并成立了通用电气运输系统（沈阳）有限公司。2010年9月9日，GE公司与中国南车旗下的戚墅堰机车有限公司成立的合资企业正式开工奠基，在中国开发、制造GE Evolution系列机车柴油发动机并提供服务，以及向其它新兴市场提供出口。2010年12月，GE运输系统集团与中国南车股份有限公司签订了合作框架协议，将在美国建立合资公司来共同促进高速铁路及其他轨道交通技术在美国市场的推广发展。
