JOB TITLE - Infrastructure Manager
JOB LOCATION - Shanghai
JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Infrastructure Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage, plan and be responsible for the overall activities in the area of network, communications, server management and desktop support in various sites across Greater China. You will assist in planning and rolling out IT infrastructure projects to meet business requirements. You will manage a team and ensure the compliance of Group's policy/regulation and create policy where needed.
You will need to posses strong leadership and technical ability to mentor team members. Participate in preparing infrastructure budget and making recommendations to meet with needs. Perform vendor management, contract negotiation, hardware and software asset management. Participate in the supervision and assessment of staff performance and focus on developing people.
Job Responsibilities
IT infrastructure support and management covering network, server, vendor management and Business Continuity Plan.
Assist with capacity planning activities for infrastructure components in a proactive fashion to ensure system performance is maintained and upgrades are anticipated well in advance to allow for correct resource planning to be applied
To be responsible for system security and change control
Define and document computer operating standards and policies as laid down in the Group policy manual. Manage and maintain Group and Local standards and policies. Manage the data security of all computer systems.
Develop routine schedules for daily, weekly and period processing, and keep up to date with changes to the system. All routines are documented for backup and retrieval purposes. Schedules may be revised and priorities altered depending on variable circumstances.
Create and maintain test script, back out plans and upgrade instructions for systems.
Ensure the reliability and availability of any infrastructure DR and backup systems.
Management of department overheads and capital expenses budget.
Develop local I.T. strategy and implementation thereof.
Negotiate contracts with external services that will provide cost effective contributions to I.T projects and ongoing systems support and maintenance. To undertake computer consumables purchasing.
Control the deployment of technology to ensure that the resources are placed where needed in the organization.
Manage departmental staff and adhere to staff policies and good practices, perform formal and informal appraisals and provide feedback to staff on performance issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum Bachelor Degree. Professional certification such as ITIL is advantageous.
Minimum 5 years experience leading an IT/MIS infrastructure and network management function. Experienced in managing external partners.
Familiar with ERP applications, LAN/WAN technologies, networking, telephony, desktop support, IT security & project management.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft back office systems such as Exchange, Windows 2000/2003, and SQL.
Aware of industry best IT practices. Self motivator that is focused on continuous improvement and very hands-on attitude.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Collaborative and results oriented
Must be motivated and proactive with a strong customer and team focus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Ability to take initiative, work flexibly, and adhere to priorities with minimal direct supervision.
