Title: Research Scientist - Combustion and Gasification Systems
Background:
LP Amina is now expanding a number of new strategic technology developments in the energy and environmental fields. In particular, experimental and theoretical research is being conducted for characterizing and improving high temperature combustion and gasification systems. These technologies that we are developing have direct industrial applications in improving energy efficiencies and mechanical integrity of large-scale industrial processes.
This scientific work serves as the bedrock for deploying new technologies that powers our innovation. Research scientists will spend most of their time conducting state-of-the-art experimental work to test new high temperature combustion systems. Our research scientists are increasingly expected to take on significant CEO facing responsibilities commensurate with their experience and growth. As we strengthen and grow our coverage of innovation and emerging technology opportunities in China, we require individuals to think, research and invent new technologies that will impact business and society.
Responsibilities:
? Lead process technology research with a team of other scientists and associates to develop and test new research hypotheses.
? Conduct research on the characterization of high temperature combustion and gasification process technologies.
? Conduct state-of-the-art experimental characterization.
? Produce written research reports, including creative visual depictions of data and ideas.
? Manage deliverables and interactions.
Requirements:
? Minimum Education - B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Combustion Engineering, or related technical field of study
? Preferred Education - M.S. or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Combustion Engineering or related field
? Minimum Experience - 10+ years of related experience in combustion, gasification or blast furnaces industry (with B.S. degree); 7-10 years of related experience in combustion, gasification or blast furnaces industry (with advanced degree)
? Minimum Field-of-Expertise
? Knowledge of and experience with combustion or gasification systems
? Experience working with burners or gasifiers in laboratory, pilot plant or commercial scale operations.
? Familiarity and experience building experimental pilot plant facilities and conducting experimental test work
? Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
? Knowledge and understanding of leading global research in subjects such as: gasification or blast furnace operations.
? Deep intellectual curiosity about emerging technologies.
? Willingness to do whatever it takes to meet internal needs in a fast-moving, rapidly growing, start-up environment.
? Entrepreneurial, enthusiastic, collegial, and collaborative approach to work.
? High degree of organization and attention to detail; ability to juggle multiple tasks.
? Ability to write clearly and incisively about technical topics.
? Superior listening and critical thinking skills, and ability to speak articulately and think on their feet; a good sense of humor is a major plus.
? Strong analytical skill, both qualitative and quantitative.
? A strong record of academic achievement. Master's or Ph.D. required.
? Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin and English is required
? Excellent office software skills.
