Shanghai Disney Resort is seeking exceptional talent to lead all Workforce Management efforts in preparation for the opening of the resort. The Manager, Workforce Management will lead Shanghai Disney Resort (SHDR) Workforce Management organization which is responsible for labor planning and regulation compliance for approximately 10K employees (cast members). This individual will directly manage a team of approximately 70 people and lead day-to-day operation of Workforce Management functions including Staffing, Workload & Forecasting, Scheduling, Deployment, Time & Pay, and Reporting.
This position reports to the Vice President, Operations, Shanghai Disney Resort.
Responsibilities include:
· Build a Workforce Management organization by utilizing Disney Parks and Resorts best practices
combined with in depth understanding of local labor regulation and cultural nuances
· Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology leadership teams to
assess, develop, and implement innovative labor strategies to meet the challenges of a dynamic
business environment
· Collaborate with SHDR leadership teams to meet business objectives while enabling delivery of
exceptional client service to operating leaders, partner organizations, and all front-line cast members
· Define staffing requirements, hiring and training plans, and scheduling methodologies that balance
direct costs with ability to attract and retain quality cast members and deliver a world-class
experience to guests
· Drive analytical approach to labor planning by balancing service and cost management objectives
· Develop standards and provide accurate time recording and workforce administration processes that are
compliant with company policy, country/province labor law, and applicable agreements
· Oversee support and advancement of workforce management systems including scheduling and time
recording systems
· Develop and utilize performance, financial, and other relevant metrics (KPIs) to measure success and
drive continuous improvement
· Lead development of the Workforce Management annual operating plan and 5 year plan processes
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent in fields of engineering, business administration, or equivalent
· Minimum of 5 years in a key leadership role with responsibilities for leading and developing a
successful team
· Operations background in large service organizations, such as hotels, retail, restaurants, or
transportation
· Fluent in Mandarin and English
· Proven understanding of internal and external workforce and labor issues and challenges
· Demonstrated orientation toward client service
· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in all levels of the organization and influence business
results through persuasion, negotiation, idea contribution, and personal presence
· Demonstrated ability to work within a matrix organization; Willingness to work and integrate with
multiple partners
· Proven ability to work both at the strategic and tactical level as well as flexibility and
professional maturity
· Demonstrated strong analytical, business planning, operation, and integration skills
· Familiarity with automated scheduling and time recording systems
· Demonstrated strong budget, problem solving, organizational, and project management skills
Desired Qualifications
· Proven ability to work in a complex and diverse major business unit of a multi-national company
· Demonstrated computer proficiency with Internet and Windows software packages
