职位描述
· Supplier Development Policies and Procedures
Implement the supplier development strategy and policies through the deployment of standardized instruction manuals, processes and procedures that govern the qualification, monitoring, evaluation and development of Metalsa suppliers.
· New Supplier Qualification
Participate in the supplier sourcing process. Review and evaluate the Metalsa Supplier Business Assessments (MSBAs) provided by suppliers, conduct on-site audits as needed, and develop and facilitate supplier improvement plans as applicable. Maintain accurate files of completed MSBAs and other audit documentation.
· Supplier Development, Evaluation and Relationship Management
Support supplier relationship management activities, utilizing supplier evaluation and development techniques that result in a strong, stable, responsive, competitive supply base focused on continuous improvement in current and emerging technologies.
· Advanced Product Quality Planning
Coordinate and esure the proper flow and execution of the Advanced Product Quality Planning Process (APQP) with assigned suppliers.
· Cost Reduction/ Quality Initiatives
Participate in cross-functional Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) teams that conduct technical discussions with suppliers and internal operations teams to identify and implement improvements in existing products and processes, using Lean methods to reduce waste.
· Emerging Technologies
Provide technical input for global and/or regional strategic sourcing projects that help identify and develop suppliers’ existing and potential future capabilities in new and emerging technologies that align with Metalsa’s new product development and customer growth initiatives.
· Regional Operations Support
As directed by the Global Supplier Development Coordinator, support the local Operations team in resolving supplier issues that put the operation at risk or have a serious negative impact on quality or delivery. Generate and communicate action plans to address major issues or serious repetitive problems evidenced by negative trends in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
· Records and Confidentiality
Document activity and retain historical files that are organized, accurate and accessible to designated Metalsa staff as needed, while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality within Metalsa and with the supply base.
· Challenges:
· Identify, evaluate, develop and qualify production and tooling suppliers according to automotive industry standards, Metalsa standards, customer requirements and the specific operational needs of the Metalsa facilities in the regions.
· Implement a standardized evaluation method for suppliers in each Metalsa facility.
· Develop and monitor the global scorecard for supplier performance.
· Provide support to regional operations for new projects.
· Provide support to the Global Procurement Team for new sourcing strategies.
· Develop standardized manuals and training materials for suppliers.
· Drive continuous improvement through participation in VA/VE projects that result in reduced costs for Metalsa
· Position internal Interaction:
- Global and Regional Procurement - to execute the Procurement strategy as it relates to the identification, monitoring and development of suppliers
- SBUs – to help deliver a strong, competitive supply base that enables Metalsa to achieve and maintain its customer and revenue objectives
- Manufacturing Operations – to help develop and maintain suppliers that deliver cost-competitive materials and services of world-class quality in timing that supports production schedules
- Engineering, Logistics, Manufacturing, Administration and all other departments – to help develop and maintain suppliers that enable execution of each department’s responsibilities
- Finance, Legal, Internal Control – to conduct business in accordance with established processes that comply with Metalsa’s communicated financial, corporate and legal requirements
· Position external Interaction
- Suppliers – to establish and manage high-integrity relationships, assist in improving supplier performance and developing their expertise to meet Metalsa’s needs, communicate effectively and resolve escalated issues
· Education background:
- Industrial/ Systems/ Mechanical Engineering, International Commerce or other 4- year degree
- Familiarity with: APQP/PPAP, Core Tools( AIAG),ISO TS 16949,
- ISO 14000 Auditor preferred
- ISO 18000 Auditor preferred
- VDA 6.3 Auditor preferred
· Requirements:
- 5-8 years of automotive industry experience (Commodity Management, Sourcing, Engineering or Quality related to stamping, metal forming, molding and castings, steel, and/or assembly, or similar experience)
- 3 years of Supplier Development or equivalent related experience
- 3 years of Project Management experience in a lead role
- Experience and/or training in Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred
- Negotiation
- Financial analysis
- Strong Project Management skills
- Knowledge of automotive industry
- Technical knowledge of purchased commodities
- Strong knowledge of stampings, molding and castings preferred
- Total Cost Evaluation techniques
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings/ blueprints
- Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Knowledge of Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics
- Familiarity with import/ export processes
- Microsoft Office expert
