The Systems Engineering (SE) group in National Instruments (NI) China organization, part of NI CHT (China, Hongkong, Taiwan), has an immediate opening for well qualified Semiconductor Test SE to grow Semiconductor accounts in China as well as NI CHT.

Overview

“Semiconductor Test” is a fast-growing market in China and worldwide. NI is committed to engage in this industry where our platform is mostly differentiated. NI Semiconductor Systems Engineers are expected to understand customers’ application needs and provide NI platform recommendations and technical support to help both customers and NI success.

Responsibilities

• Create and debug test programs and proof-of-concepts based on NI platform, (and possibly 3rd party platforms or programming languages) for mixed-signal, digital, and RF test functions
• Cooperate proficiently with NI local, regional, and global teams as well as partners in various phases of a project
• Provide forefront feedback to the marketing, sales, and R&Ds, including customer feedback, market needs and competitor features
• Work in chaos condition such as onsite customer production line and tight project schedule
• Assist customers in keeping smooth production test by debugging and identifying root causes of issues, correlating measurement data to 3rd party solution, …etc.
• Work with Sales and Marketing to develop account plan as well as support strategies
• Review and digest project experience to informative content for knowledge sharing and reuse

Required Skills, Experience, and Knowledge

• RF and Semiconductor
• RF communications knowledge and test methodologies
• Wireless protocol: GSM, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, LTE, WLAN, Bluetooth, NB-IoT, LoRa, ZigBee, …etc.
• RF components: coupler, attenuator, mixer, … etc.
• RF instrument knowledge, VSA, VSG, VST, VNA, Power Meter, …etc.
• Semiconductor experience.
• Load board design, circuit design, or IC design
• Semiconductor experience and knowledge such as ATE, handler, prober, on-wafer test, digital test, fabrication …etc.
• Automated test software and hardware
• Test management software (tester OS): TestStand, SmartTest, IG-XL, …etc.
• Programming language: LabVIEW, C/C++, VB, .NET, …etc. LabVIEW OOP is a plus
• Instruments: SMU, DMM, Oscilloscope, Function generator, Digital Pattern, ...etc.

Required Profile

o Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related majors

o Good verbal, written, interpersonal communication skills. Fluency in English

o Sense of project management and skills

o Willing to locally or internationally travel by request (20% or less)

o Self-starter and proactive team member
