The Team
The Global Compensation team is responsible for setting the direction, design, and flawlessly executes recognition and reward programs on worldwide and regional levels. This is essential in the building of a performance-based culture of accountability and also helps drive alignment within the business and HR strategies world-wide.
This role
Key elements of the role are
- Conduct deep market analysis across all elements of pay and refine existing methodologies that can scale for use globally in conjunction with a team of market experts who are geographically dispersed.
- Analyze US and Canada local market data by country and by job family to generate analysis and recommendations for salary increase budgets, salary range movements, pay-mix, and benefits programs (not including US benefits).
Specific duties include but not limited to:
- Perform deep analysis on effectiveness and competitiveness of existing compensation programs and model potential impact of alternatives.
- Provide guidance to the business and develop creative solutions on a variety of total compensation issues including the setting of appropriate pay levels, base pay, annual incentive (including sales compensation) & stock.
- Partner with regional compensation (globally) on compensation issues, and will work on a variety of special compensation projects as needed.
- Develop proposals and presentations about compensation programs to influence and educate senior level decision-makers.
- Conduct custom surveys with key industry contacts as needed.
- Work with global and US survey data providers to ensure high data quality.
- Responsible for the project management of large scale market analysis deliverables within the global market competitiveness team.
- Provide thought leadership on best practices in developing global market analysis methodologies that are locally relevant.
- Conduct benefits competitive analysis for Canada.
We are therefore looking for someone with strong analytical skills, strong ability to prioritize and communicate clearly on all levels within the organization. Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills are therefore required.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in human resources, business, or related area or the equivalent in related work experience
- 5+ years of compensation and benefits or related experience
- Advanced Excel skills and strong knowledge of Word, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Access is a plus
- Familiarity with advanced statistical methods is a plus
- Excellent organization, presentation, and interpersonal skills required
- Has demonstrated experience in core compensation responsibilities such as:
o Completing and submitting salary surveys to third party vendors
o Use of market data and internal comparators to determine salary levels
o Analysis & synthesis of data into recommendations
- Fluency in English is required.
