Test Lead
Bing Client team builds innovative clients (windows desktop, tablets, Pad, mobile, etc.) to bring value to global users, powered by rich information of Bing. We need strong talents to lead our team member to reach our goal. While the battle for web page based search and ads is still going on, we think the next frontier is in the clients - Windows desktop, tablets, surface, pads, and other devices which are carried by people around the world.
Bing Client team is looking for a SDET technical lead to drive the envisioning, development, delivery of Bing client applications that spans platforms and markets from testing perspective. This position will offer you the ability to own end-to-end of a product. To that end, we are looking for a person who combines strong leadership, technical depth/breadth and great cross-group skills. This is your opportunity to work on highly visible applications which will be the differentiators of Bing search engine.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a passion for technology, a technical background, and possess a strong interest in application/services integration technologies. They will be an experienced and high performing SDET or SDET lead, capable of testing a large & complex product. The position will involve technical leading the test team, authoring test plan, test framework for enterprise scale application.
This is a fun and fast paced environment and a great opportunity to work on something highly strategic to Microsoft.
Primary responsibilities
- Own quality of features end-to-end
- Lead a team of SDETs to ensure application quality shipping
- Grow your team members and increase their capabilities
- Be a strong contributor and participant and guide in all specification and design reviews
- Develop automation verification suites to ensure that the implementation meets the quality standards
- Create or adapt tools and methodologies to tackle unique challenges
- Independently plan and execute work and help the rest of the team do the same
- Collaborate cross-discipline, cross-org and cross-company with partner teams
- Be a role model and mentor to the rest of the team
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional software development or test in C++ / C#
- Working knowledge of testing applications across platforms and markets
- Solid coding/debugging skills
- Strong understanding of the software development processes
- Demonstrated success in working in a fast paced environment
- Excellent people management/coaching skills and strong team building/collaboration skills are core to this position
- Experience managing testing teams
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
