Postiion title : Advanced sourcing specialist

Reporting to : Global Sourcing Director base in Mexico

Strategic participation in and contribution to the acquisition of profitable new businesses (platforms) through coordination of regional quotation process with the Value Proposition Team, Global Commodity Strategy Team and Regional Purchasing Organizations.
Utilizing global procurement strategies, developing business relationships and implement cost effective negotiations.
Act as liaison between the Value Proposition Teams and the global and regional Purchasing community.
Participate in Value Proposition Team Meetings in the assigned region.
Keep the Global Purchasing Team apprised of new developments in product and customer strategy with specific focus on the strategic implications for Metalsa’s supply base, to enable the Purchasing community to be proactively prepared to meet Metalsa’s growth objectives.
Receive requests for quotation from the Value Proposition Team and serve a Project Management role in the execution and timely delivery of a thorough and complete quotation.
Communicate the requirements and timing of each new business quote to the Global Commodity Sourcing Specialist and Regional Commodity Buyers in accordance with each commodity.
For Direct Materials, execute the Request for Quote to the suppliers defined in the Commodity Strategy.
For unknown suppliers directed by the Client:
1. Send the following forms to the supplier:
a. Confidentiality Agreement
b. Supplier Questionnaire and Profile
c. Information and Financial Assessment
2. Ensure the Confidentiality Agreement is signed prior to issuing the Request for Quote
3. Notify the Global Supplier Development Engineer (Global Commodities), or Regional
Supplier Development Engineer (Regional Commodities), who are responsible to ensure
that the Supplier Questionnaire and Profile, and Information and Financial
Assessment documents are completed
4. Notify the Global Commodity Sourcing Specialist or Regional Commodity Buyer
For Direct Materials, address any questions from suppliers related to the RFQ parameters or technical specifications. Receive completed quotations back from the suppliers, resolving any information shortfalls to ensure an accurate and thorough comparison of proposals.
For Direct Materials, prepare the Comparative Table, perform Analysis to highlight key variances based on the supplier quotations received and review it with the Global Commodity Sourcing Specialist and/or Regional Commodity Buyers to develop negotiation strategy and sourcing recommendations.
For Tooling and Global Capex Commodities, coordinate with the Global Commodity Sourcing Specialist the RFQ process, analysis of quotes, comparative tables and sourcing recommendation.
For all commodities, provide final quotations and sourcing recommendation submission to the Value Proposition team.

Deploy and coordinate quotations with Advanced Sourcing Specialists or Coordinators in other regions for global quotations in response to Value Proposition Team requests.
Provide support to Advanced Sourcing Coordinators in other regions to help balance workloads as necessary.
Document quotation activity and retain historical files of new business quotes, customer feedback and supplier quotations that are organized, accurate and accessible to designated Metalsa staff as needed, while maintaining appropriate levels of confidentiality within Metalsa and with the supply base.
