Position: Cost Of Ownership

Division/Department: C-VCIC

Location: Beijing

Main goals and objectives:

  • Early detection and Escalation of market disturbances as well as lessons learned within a China specific vehicle influence (KUZU, TCO) to support the customers satisfaction and the competiveness of all VW models in region China (Mission TS)

  • Enable serviceability for all new vehicle projects for brand Volkswagen and continue the harmonization of repair/ maintenance requirements within all entities in market China.

  • Develop concepts to improve ease of repair/ maintenance by implementing basic principles of adjacent areas of expertise and / or new technologies

  • Harmonization of repair/ maintenance methods for similar projects within Volkswagen group

  • Analyze the market situation and market specific customer expectations about Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), develop market specific TCO benchmarks and create /track measures to reach these goals.

  • Project steering for the service capability and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of Volkswagen products, with focus on: Maintenance / Wear and tear Costs and Insurance costs for all New Projects in China.

  • Establish Process for TCO prognosis/Targets for new Vehicle Projects, Support for Insurance reform project for Volkswagen Brand in market China.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of ‘Lessons Learned Process” into requirements for new projects --> Support and coordination of Importer and JVs. Special data analysis (Interpretation of data), Lead Lessons Learned after and measure from predecessor model in new projects.

  • Compile market-oriented goals for the service capability/serviceability of Volkswagen products, with focus on: Cost of Ownership as Maintenance / wear and tear, Insurance costs / Servicing

  • Negotiation and optimization of TCO for new projects with OTE Kassel and related departments in China and Financial Services (VWFS) for new vehicle projects.

  • Coordinate and Produce TCO Benchmark data, ensure the availability of Benchmark data as required for the New projects. If required, co-ordinate with an external agency.

  • Setup a target agreement with project steering for TCO, for new vehicle projects for Volkswagen brand (based on serial data) and align that with all related departments such as GM, VM, TE, etc.

  • Project steering of relevant Chinese vehicle projects - Input for Eigenschaftkatalog (SAIC VW and FAW-VW future projects for Monitoring Insurance Reform Process - in co-operation with all relevant entities within VCIC. To check the impact of Insurance reform for TCO. Provide management summary regularly.

  • Coordinate with other Group Brands for the topic Insurance reform.

  • Integrate the goals of TCO together with the KD-requirements in target catalogues, technical specifications as well as in committees, which are involved in product development processes.

  • Deliver realistic statistics related to Theft protection for Region China.

  • Establish Process for Coo prognosis/Targets for new Vehicle Projects in Market China.

  • Develop concepts to improve ease of repair/ maintenance. These concepts and solutions should also include basic principles of adjacent areas of expertise and / or new technologies

  • Evaluate repair/ Maintenance concepts regarding warranty costs

  • Run tests to investigate repair / maintenance ability (virtual and hardware tests) and align within Region China (JVs / FBU)

  • Develop prototype tools for repair and maintenance in strong cooperation with JVs and WOB

  • Represent work results and goals related to Quality Assurance in project groups as well as towards internal and external partners

  • Document work results in project documents / “Projektreifegradspiegel” / “QM-Plan”, Serviceanforderungskatalog (SAK) within QA Organisation

  • Autonomous preparation and harmonization of business cases related to new maintenance / repair methods and strong ability to present / escalate.

  • Strong cooperation and exchange of information within teams of Technical Service.

Our Requirements:

Necessary education:

  • Diplom-Ingenieur’ / Master / Bachelor, field of automotive engineering (engineering, mechanical / industrial engineering, etc.), experience in the area of After Sales/ Dealer (service).

Personal skills :

  • Experience with China advantageous

  • Profound intercultural communication skills

  • Product management experience advantageous

  • Capacity for teamwork

  • High Communication skills (with external Government Authorities)

Working experience (in years):

  • Several years of experience in Sales, After Sales, Technical Service, Quality Assurance project steering or Sales / Finance. Strong Technical background.

  • Remarks (Language, IT-Knowledge, Certificates etc.):

  • Excellent Chinese language skills (MUST).

  • Good German and English language skills gained through stays abroad.

  • Understandability of IT systems and willing to learn new systems.

  • Understandability of Technical documents / literature.

  • Advanced level Excel (MUST).

  • Excellent skills in MS PowerPoint (MUST).
