职位描述
Duties & Responsibilities
1) Coordinate and manage all elements related to student housing:
a) Student room allocation
b) Liaise with the facilities team to address any issues related to maintenance/cleaning.
c) Ensure students understand all housing policies prior to arrival, and again during move-in/orientation, and following up on any issues.
d) Participate in selecting, training, and managing four Senior Scholars (program alumni) to support students and provide 24-hour on-call coverage on rotation.
e) Develop communications and advise students regarding daily life issues, including illnesses, accidents, cultural adjustment, lost items, conflicts, etc.
2) Coordinate and manage all elements related to student health and safety:
a) Live in the College, being on-site and on-call regularly to manage any emergency situations and/or provide first-aid, including some evenings and weekends.
b) Develop materials and conduct health and safety sections of pre-arrival and orientation program.
c) Maintain resource lists of hospitals, clinics, doctors, pharmacies and other health resources appropriate for both Chinese and international students and for students with special needs.
d) Support students who need assistance with health/mental health issues, including when necessary, accompanying students to hospital or university health clinic.
e) Develop and conduct educational sessions on related topics, including cultural adjustment, consent and bystander training, supporting peers dealing with personal/mental health issues, etc.
f) Work with Senior Manager of Travel Seminars & Activities to ensure health and safety protocols are met during travel seminars and activities.
g) Support College leaders in crisis management and other problem resolution. Work with Student Life team, facilities team, and other stakeholders, to develop and review emergency response procedures.
3) Coordinate and manage academic and/or non-academic accommodations for students who apply for them under our accessibility policy.
4) Liaise with and support student clubs, events, and spaces in the College.
5) Other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean or Executive Director.
Eligibility: Basic Qualifications
1) MA in education, counselling, or other related field, or combination of BA and related experience.
2) Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a related field, ideally with live-in experience.
3) Native or fluent English, including exceptional written and oral communication skills.
4) High level first aid certification (ex. WAFA, WFR, EMT), or the ability to get this prior to beginning, along with experience in managing emergency situations.
5) Training and/or experience in providing support to students, including mental health support, conflict mediation, inter-cultural adaptation, responding to disclosures, crisis response, etc.
6) Experience in developing/facilitating workshops, activities, and information sessions for students
Experience in training and managing staff/student volunteers
7) A willingness to commit to live in the College in Beijing for at least two years.
8) A willingness to work flexible hours, due to time zone differences and the nature of emergencies, and to be on-call to respond to emergency situations.
9) Excellent management, organizational, and time management skills, with a strong ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Preferable Additional Qualifications
1) Functional Chinese language skills
2) Experience studying or working in China
3) Experience studying or working in countries other than your own
4) Experience in managing Accessibility Requests (requests for academic and non-academic accommodations for documented conditions)
5) Training and/or experience in peer support training (eg. Mediation skills, bystander intervention, etc)
