In our Emerging Countries Division, specialized in branded dairy products business (President, Galbani …), you work for Lactalis China and specialy for Taizi factory. This dairy produces pasteurized milk and yogurts.

Factory Laboratory Manager (M/F) - located in Xinhua (Jiangsu Province)

Your main duties will be to develop the organization and expertise of the laboratory to achieve continual improvement in the accuracy, speed and cost of analyzing the samples supplied.

Job purpose:

Key Duties and Responsibilities/Missions:
- Ensure that all in-house physico-chemical and microbiological analyzes with an impact on the material balance and food hygiene and safety respectively are carried out using methods defined by the Group Quality Management department.
- Supervise good practice across other on-site locations where analyzes are carried out.
- Contribute to the site's quality management system and plan continual improvement in the accuracy, speed and cost of analyzes.
- Plan and implement all monitoring and metrology actions serving to ensure the accuracy of results and establish the confidence intervals around values given.
- Monitor equipment ageing and plan for replacement as part of investments.

Technical Skills:
1. Living Science and Food technology: Knowing of main food and living sciences processes and their impact on food, final product including microbiology and Nutrition knowledge
2. Chemistry: Mastery of the chemistry of dairy products
3. Microbiology: Ability to understand and use microbiological processes, biology safety and to anticipate microbiological infections
4. Quality statistics: Master statistics

The position is located in Xinhua, Jiangsu province, 250km at the northeast of Shanghai.

The position requires 5 years in a laboratory or equivalent.

Knowledge of : Biology/microbiology, chemistry, statistics, computer tools, communication
Experience in: Organisation, planning, quality control, office systems, line management, dairy science, control and analysis techniques

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, dynamic and collaborative team player, flexible and receptive to new ideas, analytical and attentive to detail, with a structured, logical approach.

English language is mandatory, French would be a plus.
