The National Instruments Integration Engineering Services team has an immediate opening for an Senior Hardware Engineering Manager responsible for leading hardware engineering team in China.

Core Job Responsibilities

? Articulate hardware engineering group goals and ensure teams understanding and ownership
? Define, track, and communicate key group metrics to appropriate stakeholders
? Drive definition of initiatives for achieving those goals; ensure HW group goals and strategy map clearly to Global Services and NI goals and strategy
? Monitor and ensure communication of HW team to appropriate stakeholders
? Define and execute growth plans for the group in alignment with Global Services goals.
? Manage the hardware team resource to support project team development and deployment.
? Work directly with project teams supporting them as needed to get projects completed successfully.
? Manage budgets for the hardware engineering team.
? Act as coach/mentor, manage performance, and aid in career development for individuals on team;
? Ensure consistency in Integration Engineering Services performance management, learning, and development
? Drive prioritization, development, and maintenance of global tools, systems, and processes to support the above
? Triage opportunities and resources based on frequently changing needs.
? Build and manage relationship with China partners and contractors supporting projects

Skills
? Experience developing large-scale integrated systems.
? Hands on experience on circuit design, HW creation in test systems.
? Strong understanding of electrical engineering, electronics & computer architectures
? Thorough understanding of systems design principles.
? Ability to identify and solve system engineering problems.
? Excellent communication skills and experience working directly with customers, engineers, and business stakeholders
? Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing and challenging environment.
? Service oriented attitude
? Demonstrated ability to:
o Lead and work effectively with teams
o Problem-solve effectively - diagnose technical issues and propose effective solutions
o Take initiative, be a self-starter, and work independently
o Persistently drive tasks and lead projects to successful completion
o Quickly learn applicable technology, systems, and products



Position Requirements

? 7+ years of management experience working with global teams
? Experience delivering NI-based systems solutions in a global environment
? Proven track record of strong decision-making and leadership
? B.S. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
? Strong knowledge of NI products
? Strong understanding of business financial concepts and experience managing budgets
? Strong track record of productive work relationships with internal and external customers and partner
? Fluent English and Chinese
