Viavi Optical Security and Performance (OSP) product group is looking for an Asia based, experienced field application engineer to support our rapidly growing consumer electronics business. Reporting to the Senior WW FAE Manager, you will work closely with the sales and marketing leads to provide the technical support needed to close new design wins and successfully address customer technical support issues. You will also be responsible for clearly communicating customer requirements to the OSP operations teams to allow them to seamlessly transfer into production, these new customer designs.

Responsibilities
? Work with regional Sales manager and distributors to develop new business, exceed revenue targets and convert a healthy funnel for optical filters in CE and industrial market segments
? Provide marketing and competitor intelligence to assist Viavi’s strategic and tactical decision making
? Support customers to close a purchasing specification (ideally written around Viavi products) then Interface with the Viavi operations team to enable them to deliver on volume demand accordingly
? Where appropriate, interface with Viavi R&D team to provide customer technical feedback on new product development activities
? Gather as appropriate competitive and market information and share with product marketing team
Requirements
? 10 years or more hands-on experience in technology development or technical field support with optical filter products, or closely related product segments (e.g. lasers, coated sensors…)
? Strong track-record of successful interaction with customers to close designs and win share of mind
? Master or higher degree in optics or other physical science discipline
? Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English both in speaking and writing.
? Extensive travel is required, able to travel around all of Asia
? Self-motivated, passionate, disciplined, result driven individual, and willing to put in the effort required to deliver compelling results
