Job Description:

The Technical Sales Manager supports the sales organisation on all technical matters during the acquisition phase in order to convince cus¬to¬mers to design in Gemalto products.

The Technical Sales Manager technically supports customers/distributors and operators (MNO’s) to successfully in¬tegrate, test, optimize and certify the HW/SW concept based on Gemalto M2M technology during all stages of the customer application development.

The Technical Sales Manager is part of the global Technical Sales Automotive Organization. He works in close cooperation with Product Management, Application Engineering and also other Gemalto M2M departments.
To ensure the most effective cooperation with the sales organization, the Technical Sales Managers are assigned to the sales regions. Additionally the Technical Sales Managers are dedicated to key customers to ensure continuity in support. The coordination of the Technical Sales Managers, their assignment to the regions and to customers, as well as prioritisation of acquisition tasks is done by the Head of Technical Sales IOT Products Automotive. If needed this is done in cooperation with the sales organisation.

It is a challenging position, requiring the candidate to keep existing customers as well as to increase the market share of Gemalto M2M products by the means of technical expertise and customer relationship skills. The Technical Sales Manager will hold a wide range of technical discussions (e.g. ranging from low level embedded software/hardware issues to carrier level features deployment and planning). It exposes the candidate to the key players in the wireless industry worldwide.

Main duties:

The role involves working as part of a global team which provides support to customers and MNO’s in dedicated countries for the Gemalto M2M products integration, pre and post-sales support, lab/field-testing at multiple locations, also abroad. The main responsibilities are as follows:

? Technical presentation and pre-sales support at the customer
? Technical training of customers and distributors
? Promotion of the Gemalto M2M Portfolio
? Coordination of technical support and identification of the appropriate support packages for dedicated customers
? Acceptance, prioritization and management of the correct internal processing of customer requirements
? Identification of Gemalto Unique Selling Points (USP) by means of Competitor Analysis and as a result collection and development of “Selling Against” Arguments
? Trouble shooting (including log analysis, tracing, on-site testing) to establish the root cause of problems found in the field
? Raising failure reports, identification of solution or workaround and if needed internal defect escalation in a structured manner
? Enable customers to develop new wireless applications (e.g. test scripts, application notes, design hints…)
? Coordination of technical communication between the HQ and operator, customers and distributors
? Alignment and tracking of customer project milestones
? Technical support during RFI/RFQ process
 





Skills/Experience:

? Knowledge of the automotive world (emergency call system, Vehicle to Vehicle communication, etc.)
? Knowledge of automotive processes and quality system (OEM, Tier x, PCN, IMDS, PPAP, 8D, etc.)
? Knowledge of relevant M2M related standardization as well as market trends (3GPP, LTE, 5G, etc.)
? Knowledge about GSM protocols and 2G/3G/4G wireless network topology
? Knowledge of general security concepts (information security fundamentals, symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, digital signature, PKI)
? Experience in basic security protocols, technics and standards (cryptographic protocols, SSL/TLS, secure element, pkcs#11, OpenSSL)
? Experience in embedded software security (firmware and embedded application security, FOTA, Linux and Java embedded systems security concepts)

? Customer-oriented mind set, without losing the Gemalto M2M perspective
? Experience in project management (Time-, Risk-, Cost management)

Education Requirements:

? Degree or Master's in Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering and/or Information Technology
? >3 years of experience in related field
? Fluent English verbally and in written
