Translator of Show/Set Designer

Summary of Position
Translator of Show/Set Designer role is a translator that needs to be proficient in both Chinese and English with AutoCAD skill and has an understanding of drafting & drawing packages. This individual needs to be able to translate between Chinese and English in verbal and in written, as well as to read plans, sections, elevations, and details in a drawing package. The person in this role must be proficient in computers. They must be able to accept and integrate feedback.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities
1. Translating design details and directions between Show Set Team and L.A. team;
2. Taking redlined drawings and then transferring the markups & implementing the comments into the drawing package;
3. Working with other Show Set, Creative & Art Direction team members;
4. Taking hand drawings (from concept sketches up to detail drawings) and translating those into CAD;
5. Taking sketches & drawings from Creative & Art Direction team members and expanding on & detailing those to varying degree;
6. Additional tasks as assigned.
   
Knowledge and Skills
1. Chinese Show/Set Designers, fluency in English and Chinese Mandarin (written, read and spoken) is must.
2. Need to be motivated, self-starters who are not afraid to take on new tasks;
3. Basic knowledge/familiarity of industry standards in CAD production, package development, standards maintenance, show/set requirements, and technical drafting;
4. Good communication skills both verbal and graphic;
5. Experience with the variety of software applications utilized by the staff for production and presentation, specifically extensive experience with Auto CAD and Sketchup;
6. Good time management and prioritization skills.

Minimum Job Requirements
1. Fluency in English and Chinese Mandarin (written, read and spoken);
2. Skilled in AutoCAD and Sketchup;
3. Bachelor’s Degree in architecture, design, theater or related field;
4. Candidate must be located in Beijing to support our location in China.

主要职责
1. 为中国布景团队和美国团队之间翻译设计细节和指示。
2. 基于客户回馈过的绘图标记和更改意见，形成新的成果集；
3. 和演出布景，创意艺术团队合作；
4. 将概念草图和精细绘图的手绘图转换成CAD；
5. 将创意艺术团队的草图和绘图细化成多个层次；
6. 指定的额外任务。

必备知识技能
1. 中国布景设计师，精通英语和普通话（听说读写）。
2. 勇于尝试新任务，自我学习能力强；
3. 在CAD制作，系统发展，标准维护，演出/布景要求和技术草绘方面具有行业标准的基础、知识和业务熟悉度；
4. 良好的语言沟通能力和绘图传达力；
5. 对于制作和演示用的多种软件系统有经验，特别是对于Auto CAD和Sketchup方面经验丰富；
6. 良好的时间安排和轻重缓急考量技能。

基本职位要求
1. 精通英语和普通话（听说读写）。
2. 熟练AutoCAD 和Sketchup；
3. 建筑，设计，剧场或者相关领域的本科学位；
4. 能够在北京长期工作，并辅助其他城市的项目。
