Information Systems Engineer
This Hosting Operations is a service organization responsible for providing IT support for our full spectrum of our Solutions to our Solutions on Demand. Additionally, the Hosting Operations team works with other IT teams to improve our service catalog offerings to our customers including helping to implement next generation technologies. As a Senior Information Systems Engineer in the IT Hosting Operations (HostOps) organization, you will use your communication and technical skills to support internal and external customers in our hosted environment. You will help design, implement, and support a large heterogeneous computing environment. You will be responsible for helping to maintain Service Level Agreements and Operational Level Agreements, and improve the performance, reliability, and standardization of our hosted solutions.
Primary responsibilities for this role include:
· Perform daily administration activities for all HostOps servers including analyzing, installing, modifying Operating Systems, storage, applications, backups and account administration.
· Assists with the planning (implementation and ongoing usage/forecasting/trending), design, setup and troubleshooting of such items as Operating Systems, systems management software, security software, backup software, productivity applications.
· Assist with weekend Incident On-call responsibilities
· Determines new technology's needs, including researching, evaluation and cost analysis.
· Utilize trouble ticket system (ServiceNow) to address and resolve customer concerns.
· Interface with other SAS groups and departments to enhance the environment or resolve pending issues.
· Maintaining knowledge of diverse infrastructure architecture, security policies and standards and consistently applying these practices.
· Troubleshoot hardware, software, or performance problems.
· Automate tasks with medium complexity or multiple handoffs
Qualifications:
Good sense to new technology, strong desire to learn.
· Good knowledge on Windows Linux and UNIX systems in enterprise infrastructure.
· Basic knowledge in WAN/LAN technologies, SAN administration, backups and system securities.
· Basic knowledge in cloud computing and virtualization including AWS, VMWare and OpenStack
· 3-5 years of experience on IT infrastructure support.
· Good Problem solving and analytical skills.
· Good communication skills, good interface to users, team members and vendors.
· Good oral and written English.
· Be capable to deal pressure, balance work and life correspondingly.
Preferences:
· MCSE, CCNA, VCP, RHCE is preferred.
