JOB PURPOSE
The role will be continuously maintaining and developing our market position in methanol licensing, due to the continuous expansion of the business in China.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Growing organisations’ sales in defined market segments:
(1) Achieving the sales (value and volume) targets according to the budget and long term plan for China. This includes direct selling into the Chinese market via effective management of local agents.
(2) Analysing and reporting on customer and competitor activities in the territory. This will include proactive input to future strategy
(3) Identifying and developing new sales opportunities
2. Making sales plans/account plans and improving market information
3. Giving the customers technical and commercial support both at the customer site and over the phone
4. Supporting commercial manager and UK licensing team in technical and commercial meetings/biddings/negotiations
5. Leading sales activities in specific accounts, supported by commercial manager and UK licensing team.
SPECIAL FACTORS
1. Willing to travel 100-150 days per year including client entertainment
PERSON SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE
(TECHNICAL/ PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS COMPETENCY)
1. Minimum of University Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering required, from a reputed university.
2. 3-5 years in technology licensing or sales role in chemical/coal chemical industry.
3. Computing skills, good at Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
4. Large scale Operations Management and/or Engineering Support in either methanol, ammonia or H2 manufacture would be a significant advantage.
5. Commercial experience in Sales & business development in this or similar areas will be an added advantage.
PERSONAL SKILLS & KEY COMPETENCIES
(INCLUDING JM BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AS APPROPRIATE)
1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English along with the ability to relate to every level in a customer's organization.
2. Self-starter with initiative, high degree of integrity, capable of working with minimum supervision.
3. Able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
