Summary
This team member will join the Power Technology team in one of our key offices in China as a senior analyst. The Power Technology Team focuses on market research and business consultancy within the power semiconductors, power supplies, wireless power, and power transmission sectors. Our new Senior Analyst will be asked to learn across all these sectors at first, while later developing a particular niche or specialty. The role will have multiple job duties – from performing primary research and interviews, compiling information and designing databases, to providing both sales and account manager support for our key clients in the greater Asia Pacific region.

Roles and responsibilities
Our new team member will be given research and commercial goals for the entirety of the Power Technology products and services IHS Markit offers. The analyst will work closely with teammates, other IHS Markit colleagues, industry experts, customers and other third parties to scope, produce and sell power technology market research.
Tasks include:
? Taking ownership of greater Asia Pacific Power Technology Team customer base to support revenue growth – improving relationships, conducting primary research, advertising IHS Markit products and services, and assisting the IHS Markit Asia Pacific sales team to expand business.
? Conducting telephone interviews across the entire spectrum of the power technology sector – enabling new learning, new thought leadership and working to further cement IHS Markit in this sector.
? Become a thought leader in power technology – writing press releases, traveling and speaking at conferences and growing an individual level of expertise within the power technology marketplace.
? Scoping, designing and writing market reports in the sector.
? Designing and owning all Excel database and visualization tools to assist in creating clear, understandable data sets and deliverables for our clients.

Required education
A university degree, preferably in engineering, economics, or the sciences. An electrical engineering degree would be preferred.

Required experience
The job is a mid-career position with the candidate ideally have between 5 to 10 years experience. Experience may be in the power industry, as a market research analyst, or other closely aligned industries of job roles.

Languages
The job will require both Mandarin and English language skill sets, with fluent speaking and writing required for both.

Physical Requirements
This position will operate under normal office conditions and will include moderate phone use and moderate to heavy computer use. This position may be required to travel up to 15% for events, round tables (client workshops), client visits and other business-related needs.
