Key Responsibilities:

1.Contribute to the ibtm events HB strategy as required particularly business development activities

2.Keep well informed regarding key market trends, competitors and customer needs through internal and external research and analysis to identify trends and spot opportunities for growth

3.Actively building new contacts (prospects) by sourcing, researching and developing leads as well as qualifying existing leads on the database

4.Regular networking and meeting with prospective Hosted Buyers and Group Co-ordinators

5.Support the Hosted Buyer recruitment campaigns, sourcing and securing third party group co-ordinators (where appropriate) and following up with potential Hosted Buyers.

3.Achieve the assigned KPI targets for each event including new prospects, registrations and approved buyers as per the strategy

4.Understand the needs of our customers to ensure we recruit the right buyers enabling the perfect match

5.Collaborate with RX teams, external suppliers and customers to support the business development strategy

5.Qualify the Hosted Buyers against the set criteria as per the event strategy and in line with the KPI’s

6.Delivering an exceptional 365 (all year round) experience for customers and buyers

Close liaison with sales, marketing, HB team and senior management colleagues in China and overseas

7.Production and presentation of reports as directed

8.Attend industry events as directed

9.Support Hosted Buyer manager and provide all the necessary supporting work on general enquiries and administration as required

10.Other ibtm china duties as required

1.Previous experience where business development played a key part within their role

Customer service and research experience in the travel or the event management industry

2.Pro-active and energetic approach to achieving quantitative targets and quality standards

3.Creativity – developing and proposing solutions to queries and a positive approach to conflict resolution

4.Good interpersonal, written and telephone communication skills

5.An aptitude for networking and building relationships with a diverse range of people

Ability to work calmly under pressure with great attention to detail and adherence to deadlines

6.Enthusiastic team player who can work collaboratively in an international environment

7.Strong time management and organisational skills

8.Fluency in English and Chinese languages is essential

9.Preferably strong connections and contact in the travel industry
