Country Manager
Asylum Research, an Oxford Instruments Company, is looking for an experienced and technically savvy sales manager to lead and mentor our growing China team. This is a perfect opportunity for a hands-on sales leader who wants to maintain responsibility for his or her territory while developing a team of high potential sales, applications and service engineers and having overall responsibility for a larger region.

The Role
? Mentor and manage a young team of Technical Sales, Applications Scientists, and Service Engineers to deliver both fiscal year and longer-term sales targets and projected growth. Lead the implementation of an annual strategic sales and market development plan.
? Manage and close direct sales in the specified individual territory, qualifying prospects and managing expectations with customer requirements and technical capability of our products. Establish and maintain key customer collaborations and relationships while generating and following up on leads.
? Provide management and colleagues at the Asylum headquarters with China market intelligence including country-wide economic and technology trends, including academic funding, as well as emerging industrial applications. Work with senior management to develop new markets and segments for existing product lines.
? Provide timely and insightful market feedback via CRM, reports, emails and discussion regarding competitive activity including sales amount and volumes, company trends and important factors that may impact our business.

The Person
Successful candidates candidates will have:
? An advanced material science degree or similar; PhD or business qualification desirable
? At least 5 years of experience in high tech instrumentation sales, with a track record of successful presentation, negotiation and closing skills.
? Proven experience managing a team of 5 or more people
? Demonstrated ability to meet challenging sales targets and grow a business year over year
? Excellent cross-cultural communication skills, in both English and Mandarin
? Willingness to travel frequently within territory (50%), and internationally on an occasional basis
? In-depth AFM experience or knowledge is strongly preferred
