About this role:
Syngenta Beijing Innovation Center is seeking a highly responsible and motivated scientist focusing on greenhouse research and environmental analysis:
? Act as bridge between research scientists and facility engineers on daily operation, ensure environmental and facility requirements are clearly identified, communicated, and followed up
? Monitor and communicate greenhouse environmental performance, work with other scientists and facility manager for continuous improvements
? Keep up with and bring in novel greenhouse technologies on environmental control and plant cultivation. Conduct experiments to test feasibility of new technologies if necessary
? Propose and participate greenhouse renovation projects, collaborate with facility manager to ensure completion of projects with high quality and efficiency
? Connect with other Syngenta sites to query and share best practices on environmental control
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
? Master’s degree in Facility Agricultural Science and Engineering, Environment Engineering, Precision Agriculture
? Over 3 years’ experience in controlled environmental research, agricultural facility design and management
? Good analytical and trouble shooting skills
? Good team player, willing to support others and work across functions
? Highly dedicated, paying attention to details, highly organized
? Being innovative and open minded
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
? Good oral and written English
? Prefer with some computer programming skills, e.g. to build automatic control programs
Important Additional Information:
? Role based in Syngenta Biotech R&D centre, Changping district, Beijing, China
? Early morning or late evening teleconference is required to interact with global colleagues
? Domestic and occasional international travel is required
