Director of Marketing and Business Development, Beijing

Candidates are invited to submit their applications for the position of the Director of Marketing and Business Development, Beijing. This role is to develop and support a growing and vibrant network of member organizations, both Canadian and Chinese, in and around the Beijing area.

Within the bylaws, policies, and program of work, the role of the Director of Marketing and Business Developmentis to develop effective collaborations with our members and partners in Beijing and Northern China. This requires an ability to understand the business objectives of CCBC members, and how to think creatively to leverage the resources of the organization to support the business development of our members. The Director of Marketing and Business Developmentworks to promotethe CCBC to prospective businesses, organizations and individuals, and promote and sell related programs, events, services, sponsorships and advertising opportunities. The position will be representing the CCBC to multiple constituencies, and work closely with our partners. The candidate will need to understand the key stakeholders responsible for economic development between Canada and China, and assist with communications to government offices related to trade and investment.This position reports to the CCBC Managing Director for China.

Main Duties:
? Liaise with existing CCBC members and partners to build positive relations to coordinate business services working with internal resources and 3rd party service providers
? Develop partners and coordinatewith them regarding sponsorship or support of major CCBC events and programs
? Assist with the planning and coordination of events and delegations held within China
? Coordinate business matchmaking programs for Canadian delegations, identifying and communicating with potential Chinese partners or investors
? Manage CRM systems, coordinating the database of contact information, and taking the lead in following up with businesses, organizations, and individuals who could benefit as members
? Work with marketing tools such as Wechat, Weibo, newsletters, websites, and media promotions to build the brand of CCBC and to support the promotion of member projects
? Support communications with Chinese government officials related to trade and investment
? Monitor and report on important business and political developments in the Northern China
? Development effective strategies for the CCBC Chamber of Commerce in Beijing to engage and support the Canadian community
? Coordinate with CCBC offices in Shanghai, Toronto, Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver to assist with the delivery of services
? Other duties as assigned by the Managing Director

Key Requirements:
? Substantial work experience with business development and marketing in China
? Personal integrity and strong sense of professionalism, understanding how to work within organization policies related to the use of key account information
? University degree in Business, Economics, Political Science, or International Affairs, etc.
? Understanding of government systems related to economic development
? Strong communication skills with excellent spoken and written English
? Fluent Mandarin Chinese
? French language abilities a plus
? High degree of proficiency in MS Office applications, as well as familiarity with CRM programs
? Familiarity with communications and marketing tools such as Wechat, Weibo, and mailing lists
? Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks for multiple projects and deadlines
? Self-driven and passionate about tasks at hand
? Team player, reliable and detail-oriented
