1. Overview
The Assistant in Purchasing/Inventory Management works closely with the Finance Manager in supporting an organized, tightly managed purchasing infrastructure that supports cost control, supply management, and warehousing for all company restaurants. He/she is responsible for Purchasing/Contracting specific categories as assigned and maintaining consistent supply and competitive pricing for those items.
The Assistant in Purchasing/Inventory Management will be involved with the co-development and implementation of supply chain initiatives. Reporting to the CEO, with dotted lines to the Finance Manager, The Assistant in Purchasing/Inventory Management will be responsible for the procurement of various food and non-food items/services.
2. Responsibilities
1) Develops and maintains mid-long term strategic supplier relationships that ensure a continuous supply of critical food and non-food ingredients that meet LEVANTE’S specifications.
2) Develops competitive options for all items in assigned areas of responsibility; bids and reviews each item on an ongoing basis.
3) Takes charge of regular and accurate inventories of all tangible assets in the company.
4) Maintains/creates processes monitoring the movement of all goods both, from outside the company and from within.
5) Provides detailed monthly inventory to the finance manager timely and accurately.
6) Support the development, testing, and implementation processes for existing and new products allowing for proper collaboration between Ops and Marketing to ensure the highest quality of products to Customers.
7) Creates forecasting as required for all assigned items; reviews cost vs. forecast on an ongoing basis and reconciles areas that are outside of forecast; creates presentations, written reports and communicates any changes and the rationale to management.
8) Continually lead the matching and approval process for new suppliers on all proprietary/primary products to enhance quality while ensuring continuous supply and to create a competitive landscape.
9) Support LEVANTE’S growing restaurant unit community in all supply chain functions.
3. Qualifications
1) BS degree in a field requiring strong analytical skills.
2) International experience is a plus.
3) Strong analytical skills – must be able to take a complex set of variables and deliver solutions that achieve the desired business result.
4) Negotiation – negotiate effectively with suppliers to achieve optimal solutions that deliver an ensured supply, LEVANTE’S quality, competitive costs, and innovative product development while capturing benefits of an integrated restaurant system, all with a mid-long term perspective.
5) Project Management Skills- accurately develop project parameters, perform and manage project tasks and key deliverables all while choreographing the work of cross-functional team members.
6) Computer Skills - advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office based software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Prepare complex presentations using PowerPoint or similar software.
7) Ability to work in a high growth/high pace environment.
8) Ability to solve problems creatively and resourcefully.
9) Takes initiative.
10) Self-starter.
11) Has excellent interpersonal skills.
12) Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong English and Mandarin skills are a MUST.
